Yus. I'm only four bosses in at this point, I've had limited time to play unfortunately, but I'm really enjoying(?) my time with it. The atmosphere and world that the game developers have put together is stunning in both how ugly and how beautiful it is.
Between the different games I'd say that it feels the most like Demon's Souls, at least at this early point. No way to upgrade armor (avoiding the armorfestravaganza of Dark Souls/DSII), limited use healing items whose stock has to be replenished, little to no direction, and a punishing difficulty curve. I'm loving it (although for someone not familiar with the games I'm sure reading my descriptions sounds more like a condemnation than praise) so far and I can't wait to see what kind of curve balls the game throws at me. I've just now come to a new-ish environment and I've heard that it escapes the confines of the claustrophobic city walls of Yharnam.

Bought it last weekend...spent most of my time getting my character the way I wanted him and then encountered my first enemy who killed me faster than I can say "Mazinger repaint".
I'll try to play more this weekend.

It's good. It's really good. Having got further into the game though, I'm surprised at how unexpected the direction it ends up going is. Miyazaki (the director) took a lot of inspiration from Lovecraft when he made the original Demon's Souls, and like I said before, this game definitely goes more in the direction of Demon's than Dark Souls...

So this is a thing that happened to me: Yeah... I know the game can be difficult, but that's just mean I love the PS4's ability to save videos like this, though. It's too bad I always forget when something cool/stupid happens that I want to share.

Finished the game. It's been a solid solid few months since I bought it...well worth it. I guess the game starts anew again albeit with harder enemies...but, they also give more blood echoes. I'll consider the DLC later on.
I'll probably stop playing for awhile now and get to the new Batman and MGS5...

I've been slowly working through the DLC in the limited time I have available. Some really creepy and well designed areas, and right away they bombard you with boatloads of new weapons to the extent that I don't want to start trying to level up any of them because I don't know what is still to come.
Some incredibly difficult bosses, too, and some epic confrontations.

I beat the DLC over new year's break. What a ride. The DLC had some truly eerie areas and some extremely epic and difficult bosses. Lots of cool weapons and new armor, too. It was well worth it, and I'm ready for Dark Souls 3 now
