A co-worker of mine has mailed my dog-eared Diaclone catalog/brochure to his girlfriend in Japan for a 'complete-as possible' translation to English. I'm mostly concerned with the Diaclone v.s. Waruder story, and I'll post it here when completed/returned. Ward P.S. I've written my own brief Diaclone/Waruder origin story; if anyone would like to read it, PLMK

Thanks for your interest MonkeyDecepticon.
When I get the translation back, I'll post both versions to read. In the meantime, a brief synopsis of my Diaclone version goes:
Dianauts (pilots) are human-cyborg 'astronauts' who don't need external life-support systems; so thier ships/robots can be devoted to propulsion, weapons, etc. (advantageous for space travel and warfare). Scientists, explorers, and efficient warriors-when neccessary (think "Blade Runner"); they are long-lived cyborgs, who explore space, defend, and police Earth colonies. Three generations (so far) exist, with slight physical variations in structure, but similar capabilities.
Waruder (enemy pilots) were meant to be Earth's fourth Dianaut generation, destined for missions to high radiation star sytems. Insect DNA was introduced to the cyborg tissues to resist prolonged radiation exposure...but unforseen mutation changed Waruder appearance (and motivations) to insectoid... the first 'alien' threat to mankind, was created from within. This explains the similar scale, technology, and humanoid form of the Dianauts & original Waruder. Waruder continue to mutate, and replicate their own 'race' & technologies. They are intelligent, warlike invaders; aggressive to any biological life they encounter. Even a small division of Waruder, taxed Earths military to desperate levels while repelling them from Earth. Waruder consider Earth their home planet (technically true), and are a constant threat to mankind, Earth space, & colonies.

That's great news, Ward! I'm very excited!! Me too! I'll post it here as new thread, when it shows up (could be a few months). I'll type it word-for-word, as I understand translations can have confused meanings sometimes; but we'll get the general idea of what's going on. Did somebody mention a connection between the Microman 'Acroyear' enemy, and the 'Waruder' (Diaclone enemy)? Some early Acroyear stuff I'd never seen before, was on eBay. They looked insectoid. ? Ward Yup. They're the same enemy, though I don't think any continuity between the two series is implied. They just recycled the idea, I suspect.
