Not out, but certainly slowed down (financial reasons in the past with crappy jobs).
Slowly gettin back into collecting again, but at a slower pace and only going after
figures I want within my focus.
In the beginning of my collection experience I scored a lot of figures in brief intervals
because there were many I wanted to have while they were still easily available in
the eBay aftermarket and through RJ sales and trades and such. Among those robot toys were some
retro stuff from the '90s Mazinger toys and models era that I wanted.
I was also lucky to have figures members wanted to trade for, and those transactions
went smoothly with both sides happy with our new hauls.
Later on down the road was a tough journey for me due to financial setbacks.
And then many RJers stepped in and helped me along the way, especially that
RJ Christmas thing for which I'm still humbly grateful.
After that I just had to stop collecting for a while and get myself together
with a new job and basically a new direction in my life as I'm getting older.
I wanna go back to the roots of why I started collecting in the first place,
to own many of those retro Mazinger toys and models from the past.
Some of the newer stuff is awesome, and of course they're turning up so
fast it's distracting me every which way- and so I have to avoid buying
on impulse unless there's something I really want.
Priorities aside, this time I'm in no hurry for anything without careful planning.
And I definitely am not gonna play the "catch up with the Joneses" game,
because that's Not what collecting is about.
I wanna collect for the sake of enjoying the hobby and the childhood
nostalgia it brings... not because I "have" to.
Specimens come and go, and they'll be around for a while.
I can't see myself collecting at the age of 90-something; so I'll enjoy
the hobby for the moment while I'm still 50 years young.
