I disassembled my LJN Jumbo Voltron for restoration a year ago and like a fool, realized I misplaced all the screws somewhere.
Does anyone know of any places where one can send in a sample screw and they can match what is needed?
I do have a spare Giant Voltron that I can obtain a sample screw from, but I just dont know how to order the exaxt one, aside from going to hardware stores and keeping my fingers crossed they have something even remotely close.
I know Home Depot or Lowes only has a limited amount of small sized screws. Any recommendations is much appreciated.

If I remember correctly when I sold my unused one, there are four pan head Phillips screws. The thread is what I would describe as coarse and the overall length is really short.
Don't bother with Home Depot, lowes, or hardware stores unless you look quickly and see something identical size and material. The ones you need are easy to spot.
There is a place near where I live, it's some weird kind of shop supply or something. Basically a giant warehouse where you walk in and hand the guy that works there what you have and you say I need X amount of those.
He can literally eyeball them and bring you the closest stuff (metric or standard) to what you have (springs, washers, screws, nuts, bolts) in whatever finish (stainless, galvanized, etc.) you can imagine.
I've been there a couple of times, it's crazy.

The screws you're looking for, are they the ones which bolt the thighs to the torso-- and the feet to the lower legs?
Man, if I could find my screws I'd send them to you. But I had lost them a long time ago when I took apart my LJN Commander Voltron to clean it up.
Right now I just have the parts snapped back together without any screws; but I'm just gonna go with ordinary small screws for my Voltron.

Since that toy was not made in Japan, it may not be so hard to match the hardware in your area. One specialty chain of supply like MrGinrai is describing is: www.fastenal.com

Yeah my place is still in business from what my uncle said. I will double check today. It's basically a fastener supply as well.

Thanks guys. This is going to be tougher than I originally thought. I went to Fastenal per repairtechjon's recommendation, but they didn't have anything that small. They were able to give me the measurements on the screw, but to find one exactly like it is going to be hard.
I haven't been to my local Ace Hardware store yet, but I did find some specialty screw makers online. However, their minimum order is 1,000 units. I only need 10 screws. LOL Hopefully Ace Hardware has something very close. I wish I knew the exact name of the screw that LJN used. I'm sure it has to be on eBay somewhere.

Wait, how did you get the measurements if you didn't have the screw?
If you have one, send it to me and I can take it to the place near me!
Why do you need 10? If you mean the screws that hold the remote control base to the feet, it only takes four screws, two on each foot.

If you mean the screws that hold the remote control base to the feet, it only takes four screws, two on each foot. I have a spare Giant Commander Voltron I was able to get a spare from. I need 10 because the one I dismantled to clean and restore requires 10 total screws. (The 3 screws for each leg connecting to abdomen, and 2 screws for each of the back of the feet. I didn't count the remote control base screws.) I found some screws that "work" from an R/C store but the head does not look anything like the Voltron's screws. They have the more modern hex screw head which is prominent in R/C cars these days and they just don't look right. I went to Ace Hardware to look and came back without any luck. I can let you borrow the screw to take it to the place near you, provided you can promise me you won't lose it and will get it back safely to me. (I'd really be deep in the hole if I lost one more screw to have 2 incomplete sets versus just one. lol)

I absolutely promise I won't lose it. If the guy that bought my Voltron was closer to me I'd ask him, but the only loose ones he has are the base screws. I know we wouldn't disassemble my old one (it was unused).
So yes, PM me and I will do my best to help you. Also send me any info the different places gave you so far. As long as you are in the U.S., I don't see this being an issue.
Now if I could only get someone to lend me their original DX voltes string so I can match mine to something in person, I'd have one more oddity crossed off my list.
