Wow awesome! Thanks for posting the comparison. It's cool how many parts were kept looking close to original when combined.
How long ago did you find that one? I've seen a couple different versions of that bootleg in hands of JoshB of CDX and Mark Gradwell.

I've had it a couple years I think. There are little submarine nose caps that go on the thighs when separated. I didn't have them in the pic for some reason. And also the copter blades are removable.

Nice comparison! The bootleg one is pretty cool, able to combine while the legit ones cant. And it looks like the quality is pretty good too.

No, actually this bootleg is ST sized. They took the ST Popy and retooled it so that it actually splits apart. That's why it's so cool and sought after. It's rare that a bootleg improves in some way on the original, especially in that time period. I have the mid-size bootleg also, I'll post pics of them together.

I had this one as a kid. a couple years back, I got the Matchbox version, MIB for around $25 off eBay. Also got the Popy version a long time ago. Was really trying to find the one that splits into the 15 individual parts. The mid size KO doesn't split into 15. The arms and the forearms are screw together and the head is not removeable unless you unscrew the torso. Here's mine

The 15-1 bootleg is cool. I have one and it even had the GB-72 stamped on the helicopter arms.

I recently tracked down the second box variant of the Popy ST bootleg combiner and will post updated pics to include it.
