So on Facebook there was a discussion about the pricing of the 5 inch Shogun Warrior die cast toys and it made me wonder. I'm not really familiar with these guys, although I would like to be, so I don't know what a good price guide would be. I know the common ones (Mazinga, Gaiking, Poseidon) aren't much more than 30 bucks for a loose figure in good quality but what do the expert say on this? How much would you pay for each one? Thanks in advance! -Sam

30-50, depending on if they are mint. It all depends on them being complete and condition. $40-50 is fair for a boxed/mint one. Loose ones can go for 20-35, again depending on condition.

What about for the rarer ones? Like Dangard and Combattra?

Same price on the higher side, again depending on boxed, complete, and condition.

Just got the Mattel Dragun and Raider for about 35 euros all in (about 40 USD), good nick overall, some paint chips, some little bits broken (tip of Raider's drilll, tip of one of Dragun's head spikes), otherwise complete with two missiles for Raider but not the missile launcher-arm, no accessories for Dragun. Loose obviously. For me, that was a good price as I was looking for a replacement Raider for my childhood one (long lost, but for which I still have the launcher-arm). I consider the Dragun as a bonus!

Also grabbed a Poseidon first version (legs fold to get the robot in 'tank' mode, missile launchers rotate) for £15. Same state as Dragun and Raider above. No missile.

It seems that a decent 5" mazinga is going to cost at least $50-$60 based on eBay prices. That is without box, in decent shape with no damage to head sculpt or body, with both fists and the jetpack/scramjet. The fists alone are selling for $25 and the jetpack $10. Finding a decent figure without major damage also will be at least $25-$45 without all the accessories.
The earlier version with the yellow jetpack part and the stickers on the front will be more.

For the 5 inch ones it depends on which version. 1st versions are worth more cause that is what was sold as original Popy in Asia so more people want it. US and Europe both cheapened them down with the later versions. Dead giveaway of 1st version, all basic 5" came in green styrofoam. There was a page listing each version and description.
If it comes with yellow star missiles, it definitely is a later version release.
Dragun seems to be the most plentiful followed by Rygar, Poseidon and Mazinger.
You will find those on eBay all the time. Getting them in mint or unopened boxes is much harder and can command premium prices.
I remember back in the day Gaiking was considered rare for some reason but that is on eBay all the time.
I love the diecast Shoguns. Those are what I had when I was a child.

These prices are going up quickly. I just lost an auction for Poseidon's box on Ebay. Thought I was bidding high at $20 and just the box sold for $135. MAYBE if you get lucky you MIGHT find some deals as listed in this thread but more than likely not.
