Hi, my name is Danny and I'm an Italian Diaclone collector living in the US!  How's everyone?  I do collect many Diaclone toys....a few japanese but mainly italians ones! I'm know Mr. MattingaZ as I've done business with him before in the past (great guy!!) Anyway, a freind of mine pointed out to me this website and I would like to join all of you in Diaclone and Microman discussions....I would like to help the cause. Anyway, I saw in an earlier post some discussion about Diaclone Battle Convoy (AKA Pre-Optimus Prime) and it was talking about differences between the G1 and the Diaclone version. AFAIK, the differences between the 2 are also in the smokestacks (the Diaclone version are shorter). Thanx for dropping by and reading my post! Do you also collect the Henshin Cyborgs?
Not much has been said on this line either.

I am somewhat new to the diaclone cars.
What are your favorite ones?
Does the ultra magnus one have the silver floor boards in the car trailer or are they just blue like the transformers version.

Hi Rednecktex, my favorite cars are the ones that are obviously worth the most and hard to find: - Yellow and Police Sideswipe - Yellow Trailbreaker - Police Sunstreaker - Blue Bluestreak - Marlboro Wheeljack As far as the Diaclone Ultra Magnus there are 2 versions: - version 1 has the grey floorboards on the trailer section (released in Japan and Italy) - version 2 has the white and chrome floorboards on the trailer section (released in Japan only) www.diaclone.net/orid/dia057/index.htmlThe web page above talks about the Magnus (in Japanese....but the pictures show it all). There's also differences between the Italian release and the Japanese one: - the Italian one was released with stickers that have a white background instead of the regular silver background that is on the Japanese stickers - the Italian ones had 2 different versions of the cab as well: a blue and red cab. TAKARA shipped left over Battle Convoy cabs (Diaclone Optimus Prime) in the Diaclone Ultra Magnus Boxes that were destined to Italy - in the chromed floorboard version (Japanese only), the missiles are white instead of being the usual grey....these matched the color of the floorboards of the trailer. The Italian version had the regular grey missiles (that matched the trailer foorboards) - also obviously the writing of the Italian release in is Italian and also safety (bopper) missiles were added for safety (but the roriginal missiles were not taken out of the package). This is unusual as the Italian company who released these toys (GIG) usually added the safety bopper missiles and took out of the package the regular issue missiles as well as the drivers. They did this for all Diaclone toys except for the Dinobots and Ultra Magnus (as well as all the first release Diaclone toys ex. Fortress X, DiaTrain, Dia Attacker, Great Diaclone Base, etc.) Hopefully this will help a bit!! Take care! the.overlord |
