While Megatron P38 U.N.C.L.E. set , seen 4-5, were from 9000 to 13000 yen, unapplied stickers, mint conditions...
Diaclone car robots are very rare...i saw only a Wheeljack, a Smoke screen and a red Sideswipe...prices around 12000 yen, used conditions...

I'm surprised you even saw that. It's been my impression that resellers raided all the dusty toy shelves in Japan years ago. Thanks for the update

Makes me feel a little better about eBay prices. I always wonder about those items (in shops or online) which are so clearly overpriced that nobody buys them...yet there they are, just sitting or reappearing time & again. I've kinda dropped using YJ after seeing my final prices But one thing I do appreciate about the place is that the bidders seem to collectively support low starting bid toys, and boycott the high opening bid, or reserve items. Kinda like saying: "Hey, it's an auction, let the market decide on a fair price"...which often matches or exceeds the dead/reserve auction.

Not sure about collectors in Japan but I feel that collectors of vintage (Diaclone) toys have matured a bit. The "hardcore" Transformers collectors now have a lot of newer toys to collect (RID, Armada etc) which means less potential buyers for vintage items such as Diaclone. Given this situation it now gives us a chance to sit out a few auctions to see what the market does instead of jumping on every Diaclone that comes along.
That, and the fact that some of us have been around long enough to know that no matter how rare an item is, there will always be a second chance to buy one.

Great to have you with us here, your website is a huge help for Diaclone reference. Yes, I've got to cultivate patience with the Diaclone 'Grail' items (to me these are GRB, FortX, SkyBase). Saving up and waiting is the best idea, rather than hoping for an unlikley drop in prices. Shaxper once pointed out that on YJ, there is no such thing as a rare Diaclone, which proved true the first time I logged on. Ward
