I know one shouldn't post live links, but given the circumstances I hope this won't be frowned upon... Seriously, what the hell? page17.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v452639315The same robot up for auction by Bruneau & Co. is being auctioned off on Y!JA before the auction is even over? This is an all new low for market dealers.

That YahooJapan listing is a fake auction. They stole the pictures.
I cannot disclose the owner of the Godmars in the Bruneau auction, but I can say we know the owner. The item is with Bruneau now and has been for months. I have seen it myself, in person, next to all the items I consigned.
If anyone knows how to get a YJ! Listing pulled/reported, please do it.

The item is with Bruneau now and has been for months. I have seen it myself, in person, next to all the items I consigned. If anyone knows how to get a YJ! Listing pulled/reported, please do it. I don't think the auction is necessarily "fake," just an act of corruption. Here's a rough translation of the description: Poppy super jumbo machine Zehnder Godmars superalloy representation becomes an exhibition from the United States of acquaintance. Poppy is a super jumbo machine Zehnder Godmars.
It is USED, there are scratches, etc. Although there is no major damage. Boxed. I think that it does not in quite eye at auction. How in this opportunity? Please judge image, after understanding, please tender. Recently, the type is different after a successful bid, there is a scratch, you person there put a claim, such as photos and different. Because it is not on our side, specialty store, scratches, dirt, those who attach a claim in such model, please refrain from the tender. Other writing leak, there may be an oversight, but the individual is an exhibition so we wait for the tender of the person who can be effectively used in this state. Nervous person please refrain from the tender. In addition, no claim, no return, please. Since it is an old thing, after understanding, bid ask. In addition, because it is also multiplied by the voice on the other, that it may become sold out before the end, please understand. Since the ships from the United States after arriving in Japan, because you may get time to commodity arrival, please understand. In addition, the transfer of the case that has been successful bid the product, it does not matter, even after the goods have arrived from the United States to Japan. Japan upon arrival, we will promptly contact you. In addition, shipping borne will be the shipping (.. BOON and Yamato Transport, etc.) at the time of shipping in the country. It seems they are trying to disclose that the item will be coming from a third party in the United States and that they do not currently have the item in hand. I think they're hoping someone will commit to buy it locally at the inflated price, then, if successful, they will bid on the Bruneau & Co. auction accordingly. I'm sure they're expecting the final price through Bruneau & Co. will be less than what they're hoping to get for it so they can potentially turn a profit.

That's exactly what they are doing. There are some Asian sellers that are notorious for doing this on eBay as well.
Basically it is a combination of picture theft and misrepresentation of them selling an item they don't have.
They are either trying to outright scam for money, or do what you said - the seller hopes to have someone buy theirs, then they try to get the one at Bruneau for less, and make profit there.
What they are trying to do is difficult and usually does not work. The Bruneau auction is a week away and the jumbo would have to be paid for then securely prepped for packing and shipped out. Even if the YJ seller won it there is no way they'd have it super quick.
Either way, their listing can be classed as fake/fraudulent, whichever you prefer.
I can understand your concern and I appreciate you catching it. I have informed the owner of the god Mars and also let the auction house know.

Nice catch, and good for you posting the link.
As Mike said, this is actually not a "new low". Wishing/hoping/gambling auction listings trying to cross a sale from one market to another has gone on a long time between continents. The yahoo lister is hoping their audience will only pay attention to yahoo, and be ignorant of small market auctions like the upcoming one. Many collectors in a specific category like outs watch worldwide tho, haha

Direct quote from the auction:
"A fine example of a extremely rare 1981 Popy God Marz Jumbo Machinder. He is in amazing condition for his rarity. He retains his original stickers with the remainder unused. He has very minor scratching with the majority being on his back and legs just as a result of being in the box. His chest hinge is broken which is a common flaw seen in the piece due to a factory defect. There are minor touch up spots on his head which most likely occurred in the factory. He comes with his original sword and small rubber figure accessory. His box is in good condition being that they were rarely saved in Japan. A long time ago it had a damp bottom as a result paper is flaking. There was a hole in the bottom right hand side so a box scan was used for display purposes. The original instruction manual is present but has deterioration. box measures 24 1/2" by 11" by 5 3/4" and weighs 5lbs From the collection of Ed Sandford, owner and founder of Robot Japan."
I don't think the owner of the Godmars is a secret. It has been noted since the opening of the auction in the description. Haha. Why worry about that anyway? The auction is all over Ebay, Liveauctions etc. Not much secret about it.
In terms of anyone being able to stop the auction on YHJ, good luck. I have had my auctions stolen many times by this exact "seller", YHJ and not going to really pay attention to anything going on here in The US. Ignore it. That seller Goosekawa never sells anything anyway. I have been posting about him for a while.

Sorry to make a fuss about common activity... I had yet to personally see this attempted in real time and became alarmed. Given the extent I've seen some people go, I guess should not be so surprised.

Crazy.
Well I hope the seller gets burned......
In the end, I hope the G.M. goes to someone local for a fair price and that poster gets bad feedback.
