Totally missed the word masterpiece on the side in that picture. I thought it was another teaser for one of them 3P company. Maketoys has got to be happy being that they are the first to get this out. MMC Ox Max and XTB better hurry if they want people to buy theirs. Cause Once official hits, it's gonna be tough sales for them. Especially, if official prices similarly to IronHide and Ratchet.

Ya 3p adventure is good but risky. Once Takara comes with the official one, hard to compete. PS-03 Backdraft is OX design X G1 modernized: it will nicely feed collectors. I wonder what truck licence Takara chose for inferno...

Thanks for linking the photos nikodiablo. I saw them last night. There is just something about takara's designs. They seems to always get the headsculpt right. Then there is the simplistic panels. The thing with the 3 party designs, at least how I feel about it is that some times there is just way too much going on and looks distracting. Simple flat panels without details, I just like better. Wasn't gonna buy a Inferno, but this reveal has change my mind.

At least I helped Takara sell MP Inferno to you, SGV!

Thanks. I believe it will also be the cheapest option. For a character I don't care much for, the cheaper the better. May even hold out for the KO.

Support official whenever you can. Ko won't save you much money anyways.

I think we already have a thread for MP Inferno. Mods, please merge?
I agree. This is one of the better looking MP from the recent offering. I want to know the size of the final product before pressing the button on any of the MP Infernos in the market. If this one doesn't suit my collection's scale, I'll go with MMC Backdraft. He's sized perfectly with MP Ironhide.
EDIT: Where are they hiding the ladder? The rear truck wheels are a bit too thin, though.

(Admin mode : threads merged) I can clearly see here the move TT made to be more anime than upgraded G1 toys. (Got My PS-03 Backdraft sample) Mp line is "flattenizing" the shell and skiping details, but engineering is still very interesting. But where the hell the ladder is disapearing ? partforming maybe

I think the ladder collapses and then folds in on itself.

That inferno looks awesome! I love how they keep thigs simple and clean (which is harder to do than you think) in contrast to some 3rd party stuff that wanna cram as mucg detail in as possible. Both have their fans but I rather clean and simple like Mazinger compared to over the top like the Unicorn Gundam.

Both have their fans but I rather clean and simple like Mazinger compared to over the top like the Unicorn Gundam. Agreed. Which is why I am liking the directions of current official MP's. The ladder, might be parts formed and removable. But seeing as how they didn't need to do that with Shockwave, the ladder may just collapse and fold into the cab and hide inside the chest. Very clean transformation and look on the back. Which is why I like it far better than MT version. The head sculpt and the overall proportions are reasons I like it more vs MMC Ox Max version. MMC version just look a bit lengthy and skinny too me and the MT version is a bit too stubby and bulky.

I know it's show accurate, but from a G1 toy perspective I kind of miss the ladder being there in bot mode. I didn't have a g1 inferno as a kid but bought the g2 version when it came out - I used to extend his ladder in bot mode to help the smaller robots "climb" to places where they couldn't "jump" high enough to reach. Lol

I have to admit that Takara's Inferno's pretty awesome, despite the lack of surface details compared to past masterpiece releases. I still really want to see how it sized against Ironhide as I don't want him smaller than Ironhide or Ratchet.
EDIT: Takatomy's method to hide the ladder is really awesome, but then they leave the robot arms on the truck's back without additional means to conceal them. Although not 100% source material accurate, MMC Backdraft is better in this aspect.

As I thought, the ladder does indeed fold into the chest and cleans up the back. This alone makes me like it better than all of the 3P offerings. Price not mention but hoping it is priced similarly to IronHide.
