I like it on its own but I don't think it looks good next to previous mp figures. The design unity is now fragmented. I think either they should had stayed with the mp10+ style or strived for toon accuracy from the beginning.

I'm so disappointed. G1 Inferno/Grapple etc is absolutely one of my favorite molds but this is so anime heavy it doesn't do the original toy justice. I'm going to have to pass on this one.

Psst, get an Ocular Max Backdraft. I know I love mine, plus Lejam did the box art for it! MP inferno review from The Chosen Prime: Overall seems to be a good figure. Some minor issues for me would be the non-rotating ladder base and how short the ladder really is in firetruck mode. Oh, and the very plain anime look.

Some minor issues for me would be the non-rotating ladder base and how short the ladder really is in firetruck mode. Oh, and the very plain anime look. PS-03 Backdraft is for the G1 toy lovers AND cartoon and accurate to a truck licence This matches perfectly the MP V2 line and gives justice to OX Studio. MP Inferno belong to the "MP V3 line" (starting from MP Ironhide/Ratchet). -> cartoon accurate with plain surfaces, few details... -> and.... c'mon !... A firetruck with no rotating ladder ? The toy is interesting in term of engineering but IMO, is outside the art direction of the MP V2 line started since MP-10. Takara just teased today the MP Artfire (MP Infeno in japanese fire truck colors) with targetmaster. -> Wait for the Ocular max version, it is coming soon (in a box you will love among what Takara is proposing ) PAIK4LIFE review : MP ARTFIRE:

Well, at least I can get this repaint without shelling out a bazillion dollars now versus the GeeWun.

The art fire version looks like a better fit with other mps.

I am liking this re-paint better.
Is it me or the re-paints (diaclone) because of the alternate colors more appealing?

I am liking this re-paint better. Is it me or the re-paints (diaclone) because of the alternate colors more appealing? Fresher. In a subtle way, you don't see that color scheme as much as it is of a "lesser" known character. And of course, having a color combo versus all-red helps too, I suppose.

this repaint is nice, but I can't buy multiple repaints, I'm saving for the Fan Toys, Phoenix/JetFire, Berserk/BlitzWing, Aegis Sentinel/Omega Supreme...^^

Takara keep releasing same mold figures... inferno then grapple and now fireart. previously was ironhide then ratchet. lack of creativity now as so many 3rd party coming out with more accurate cartoon design...
