I’ve dug out some pictures of Japanese Androids. Here we have Android Ace (left) and Super A or Chojin (right). British Cyborg only had one type of chest engine, but these figures have three (I presume) individual designs. I love the somewhat broken English phrase “open the breast Android” – is this a description or an instruction? Spymagician was asking about the British Android’s chest engine. Here are a couple of pics which should give you some idea. One also shows the Hypnotator head. In design, it resembles that of Ace, with the two circles near the top, but it has been modified to contain and fire the missiles. I was amazed to hear that Chojin cannot fire his missiles. I can’t see the kidney shaped green area that you described, Spymagician. Here is British Android’s box front. If you look closely, you can see that the chest engine shown on the box is a prototype and quite different from the one he ended up with. In fact, it seems to resemble Chojin’s, at least in that the missile holes are lower down. Here is the third Japanese figure, Robot A. His doors are closed but he seems to be sporting a third design, with the two green panels, that got re-worked into the Hypnotator head by Denys Fisher. Maybe the Japanese one doubled up as a head, too. I wish I knew more about these. Can anyone help? Japanese accessory packs. British accessory pack. Enjoy, you Cybo-diehards! Hippy

Amazing. Where'd you get thos pictures, man?
it's definitely the Chojin version that I have...and the missiles really don't fire! there is simply no mechanism! It's insane.
I love the box designs.
Somebody please sell me a denys fisher chest engine and a couple of greenies!!!

The pictures are all from the net. If I see any pictures or pages that interest me, about anything at all, I save them. Collecting pictures of those hard-to-find toys is almost as much fun as collecting the toys. Before 2000, I had no PC and I used to surf the net at college (I was doing a day release course), save everything on floppies, then print them off at work when nobody was looking. I have two lever arch files full of mainly Cyborg, Microman and Aurora. Nowadays I keep it all on my PC. If I printed it all off it would take an age just to file away. Rednecktex posted this link to Yahoo Japan: search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search?sb=desc&desc=%ca%d1%bf%c8%a5%b5%a5%a4%a5%dc%a1%bc%a5%b0&acc=jp&apg=1&f=0x62&s1=end&o1=a&at=true&alocale=0jpLots more pictures of Japanese Androids here and other highly covetable stuff. Most of it is not for sale worldwide, unfortunately. Just drink it in with your eyes. I can see the “kidney” shape now. I have just one “greenie”. It must be possible to recast it. I once did a successful recast of a very small Aurora kit part. The Jungle Swamp came with two little pterosaurs, but one was missing its head, so I made a mould from the other one. It took a couple of goes, but it looks good. With Android missiles, the casting substance would need to be transparent green. Someone told me you can get clear resin for casting but I haven’t looked into it. It would be nice to display Android with a fully loaded chest, and I could sell them too. Check your messages. Hippy
