I think Robo King Mickey did really well. The Doremon one pretty good. Just going by my house they may have hooked a new market with them. My Wife stole mine, and my Nieces love them. This one looks great. It kinda has a Power Ranger vibe. So yeah this looks to be spoofing a classic Sentai bot. I will end up getting it.
It is noteworthy that this Toy Story Robot does not have Buzz Lightyear. That makes me think there is another in the development pipeline. Buzz, The Potatoheads, The Car, The Aliens. Probably a more SF themed one.
And of course they would do more. Disney eats these things up.

Don't knock these things. They farm interest. Sell well to cash flush general public, so less of a niche market. And bring new people to our hobby. Even if it is just our wives. I know my wife likes the Disney stuff.

I won't lie: I like it. I won't be getting it, it's not a priority (unlike another bunch of things right now) and I probably won't have the money for it anyway. But I like it. It has sort of a Texas Mack vibe going for it, I'm not convinced by the limbs (they're too diverse for my taste, looks like an old Sentai, as you said) but I love the blocky torso with the big star at the center Heh. This is a Chogokin guys. I mean, from the Chogokin line, which hasn't produced anything I'd consider worth buying in a while now. But these things sell, just like the endless SRC Mazinger repaints, so they'll keep making these weird combiners for the time being. And Vocaloid transformers, can't forget about those..

I mean Disney and their sub properties have huge deep longstanding penetration of Asian markets. if Bandai is doing well with the Disney related Chogokin products I would not be surprised to see a bit more branching out. A massive Star Wars combiner seems a gimme. Maybe 5 Star wars ships that turn into a robot? Or a Robo Avengers set? (Bonus points if they take 5 Avengers and turn them into Red Ronin). Face it we will see more of this sort of thing. They more than make their money back just selling them in Orlando alone.

to answer you, i would say yes Spongebob and most of Nickelodeon characters are well known almost everywhere the thing is with this product it kinda remind me of Voltron, if you consider woody to be the black lion its an easy pass for me anyway, if they was planing for a toy story themed robot why they didnt choose buzz since he is a space ranger and all lol, i hope they are not considering two robots in my opinion they should stick with super robots

Am a fan of TS 1 and 2. It is western/cowboy themed because of Woody. I will bet good money that another one will be released with Buzz and it will be space themed.
