I wanted to start a thread specifically for this line and also warn those who are interested that Glossam X2 is available for pre-order at Anime Export.

i think we should start from the first mechanical beast till the latest also should we include the Generals since they are technically mechanical beasts ? The generals are not mere mechanical beasts.. but ET has been making them too. So maybe, a better name for this thread would be "Evolution Toy Mazinger Enemies"? Also.. I know it has been said in the past already, but I do see ET threads popping both in this section and in the Plastic Robots section. And I do think that all ET related topics should be discussed in only one section. Well, at least all Dynamite Action topics should. So they'd be easier to find.

technically MF technically lol, i know they are humanoid but at the end of the show they didn't bleed they burst in flame so technically speaking they are mechanical beasts with high ranks also if you noticed they are designed just like Rhine X1 (the robot build by Dr. Schtroheim Heinrich) the only creatures we can exclude from that are The Great Marshall of Hell (dr.hell twin) and the Marquis Yanus and i agree we should move this thread to the plastic robots section but we should keep this one separated since all of the releases are related

ET toys are weird.
They have more metal then more then few SOC and SRC, but since only joints are metal, by many its not considered officially Chogokin

But since I don't want to get off topic too much, I'll try to be brief and say what I think all in one comment. From most to least advanced, the order is: mechanical generals, sentoju (fighting beasts) and then kikaiju (machine beasts). The kikaiju were the first to be created, and their original purpose was to defend the Mikene Empire from outside threats, such as invading enemy armies. Then the natural disasters hit, and the Mikeneans were forced to move underground into the gigantic cave system, which they have since inhabited. All of their kikaijus were left behind, in the abandoned buildings of the ancient cities, only to be found many centuries later by Dr. Hell, which would also modify and improve them for his world domination plans. Meanwhile, the cavern-dwelling Mikeneans did not forget how to build giant robots, their technology slowly advanced overtime, and they got to the point where they could transform themselves into kikaiju, or rather, sentoju. The kikaiju were just remote-controlled slaves, while the sentoju kept the memories and personalities of the subject intact. Mhm.. if you wanted to. See, probably the first sentoju to be created were the generals themselves, which were part of the "aristocracy". They got immortal bodies and preserved their memories and personalities, and then they had the brilliant idea to do the same with their best soldiers, BUT sans the memories-and-personalities bit. All that's left of the person after the conversion to fighting beast is the combat experience and techniques learned throughout the years, and the loyalty towards their masters, the generals. No emotions left, no memories of their previous life (and when that's not the case, it usually makes for great episodes). An empty shell of what was once a man, it's easier to control after all, makes the robots more obedient. That's what makes sentoju more fascinating, to me at least. I also like the little faces they have in their chests (well, I shouldn't say small, they're probably man-sized).

very interesting topic indeed, lets think about it as an introduction to this thread explaining how they are different i totally agree with what you said, but my point is they are mechanical not flesh and blood anymore, they leak oil and blow up, like i said mechanical beasts with high ranks and better abilities of course , if i look to it from your point of view then Count Brocken is a mechanical general but even Count Brocken head bleed when he get hit and i think the faces on the chest are much bigger than that, it will be like a small dot if they were a normal man size but it should be a great OVA idea Go Nagai should do this as an introduction for a new show, but i guess he wont do that
