the giant gaps on the back of the black lion legs are horrible! but maybe they will come with a detachable cover.

the giant gaps on the back of the black lion legs are horrible! but maybe they will come with a detachable cover. I'm pretty sure those gaps on the back of the hips will allow for the combined mode knees to bend further back and I think it's like that on KOB too. Besides, who displays their robots with their back facing you? Anyways, for those worried about the chest gaps, worry no more. I hear you all like tight chests.

Watching my pennies for the moment ... Anyone think these will sell out before the Pre-Order date, or will there be plenty available thereafter?

from the clip, the figure looks very well engineered and very accurate to the anime that thing under the blue and yellow lions necks (high heel lol), im worried the paint will get scratched with time, what im really worried about is the chrome on the figure its getting yellowish hope they fix it in the final product the face need a little work also BUT still this is the most anime accurate Voltron we are going to have, it could be better yes but im very happy that we are finally getting one

I'm pleased with this now. The video was very informative and I feel so good about it that I'm going to order another one to save.
He is a nerd. LOL!!

yes i know the holes in the back of the legs are for more articulation, but they still look bad. spring loaded doors like the some figures have would've looked better in a $300 dollar figure.
it looks nice, but its not anime accurate at all until the lion legs are gone when combined. no excuse is valid, and besides bandai did not try to make it anime accurate. bandai made it vintage toy accurate instead.

LOL!! how many you got on PO now ? joking aside, keep in mind the one in the clip is a prototype hopefully the final product will be more awesome, also im kinda sure there will be an SRC version which will be more accurate and with ton of accessories unless the guys behind SRC Jeeg got to work on it lol

I wish the video review would just focus on the toy. While I could see the head of the reviewer clearly all too often, I can't see Voltron well enough 90% of the time. Should just have it zoomed in at all times. Very distracting in a negative manner!
Nevertheless, it's nice to hear all the clicking! It's looking better and better! It seems Bandai did include some good engineering in it afterall. Perhaps not what everyone is looking for (some of us wants magically disappearing legs), but by far this is the one Voltron that is most reminiscence of the Voltron I remember as a kid!

It was and "amateurish" attempt to be sure but, kudos to the guy for getting in front of the camera. I wish bandai would take a cue from 3rd party transformer companies and send their products out to more professional reviewers though. Still the preview (not a review by any means) served its purpose and has me even more hyped for it.

I've got to hand hand it to Bandai for giving GoLion the full size Popy DX treatment, while Combattler and Voltes got "shortchanged"

Man, good to see Matt Alt is still around. Glad to see he got first crack at Voltron too, I'm really excited for this one. I just hope pulling the shoulder lions apart won't be too much of a chore.

I don't like the old 1980's toys, so im dissapointed that what could've been the ultimate voltron ever made is not.

Uh huh...Bandai might be the best at making combiners but they're not magicians. Unless you would be willing to compromise with having optional covers that go over the lion legs, there is simply no room in those lion bodies to hide the limbs and maintain all the joints.

the one way that I think of to remove the lion's legs to be anime accurate is by means of magnet. But if you will use magnet as a connection, you can't be sure if it will hold in a long run. OR by means of a ball joint that can do part swapping..
hope they will include something to cover the hollow part at the thigh..
the yellow and blue lion has an opening at their "butt" area? no cover ?

This Voltron was obviously going to be a winner from the get-go.

im just so happy to see the SOC line is alive and flexing some serious muscles
we got 3 heavy weight characters almost back to back, and every character open a possibility for other robots to be produced
GX-70, other Nagai robots might get the same treatment
GX-71, Bismarck and Dairugger XV
GX-72, other Megazords could be produced
its a good time to be a collector
