Krimpov, good to see a name I recognize on here! You really don't like them legs! lol! I respect that! Nah. I don't hate them. I don't even dislike them. I'm probably going to buy the thing anyway, legs and all. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to try to yank them off the minute I get it - like I did with the propellers on my Miracle Production Vehicle Voltron. That one probably won't be so simple, though. It will need replacement panels, or it's probably not going to look good. Probably will be too much trouble and I'll end up leaving them on. Eh. It's not the legs that I don't like, it's the fact that they didn't even bother offering an anime-accurate option on a Soul of Chogokin. A line that's known for gimmicks like that. (Well, at least it is in my head... and since the world revolves around me, that makes it FACT.) I'll go hug my Gunbuster now... krimpov (...) you mentioned a good point about an SRC Golion that will be close to the anime along with a better articulation, good example of this case is God Sigma Maybe I phrased it wrong, but I'm pretty much thinking the exact opposite I mean that a SRC Golin COULD look very anime-accurate, but with the direction the line seems to be taking it probably won't. The "real robots" (like the ones from Super Robot Wars) are pretty much spot-on, but the supers tend to feature more stylized, "heroic" sculpts. (The Megazord SOC looks more "screen-accurate" to me than the SRC.) They're also much smaller and lower-end. I don't mean they're crap... I love my little SRCs (including that Megazord), but a little legless SRC Voltron and a 27cm combining SOC (legs or not) are just not in the same league. its just that we always dreamed of a proper combining Golion that's anime accurate or atleast close to the anime, and finally when Bandai gives us one all those negative feedback are raining on it even before we get it ! Yeah, some people tend to overreact. It's easier to paint a scatological rainbow all over something you don't like than to try to be constructive about it. But you can like a figure, overall, and dislike some parts of it. I like the Toynami Masterpiece Voltron, despite all its flaws. To me, that SOC is more like a "TM Voltron Renewal" than what I imagined a proper SOC Voltron should have been. It's better in every ways, but it's still not quite what it could (should) have been. To me, even though I like the figure, the legs are a relatively huge oversight. But yeah, in the end it's just a figure - hence the "relatively". It sucks to be "forced" to deal with that on a 300$ figure, but you always have the option of not buying it. This month, I had to pay over 2500$ (canadian bucks... about 3.45 USD) in dental treatment fees so the hospital will accept to proceed with my heart surgery... in a FREE healthcare system. (The healthcare system is "free" in Canada, but that doesn't include dental care, unless you're a young kid or on social security.) Not saying that getting those old fillings fixed and chipped teeth was not something that didn't need to be done, but that's closer to what I'd call "being forced to pay for something expensive that sucks". But enough with the little personal anecdotes. It was just to say that if there's something I hate so much on a toy, as expensive or collectible as it may be, I'm always free not to buy it. I'm not going to nerd-rage about it. That doesn't mean I can't point some "negative" things I see, though. As much as lot of people wants to see an anime acurate voltron/golion its not gonna happend. GX-71R Oh! You know it : IT'S HAPPENIIING!!! It's Bandai. "Renewal", "repaint" and "web-exclusive add-on" is sex-talk to them; mold-milking is their fetish. TLDR : Can we stop tweeting about Kim Kardashian now? #likeseriouslyWTF

soiled points, i guess it depend on the person and how he see it also huge factor is engineering for big combining robots is way different than the engineering for smaller not combining robots, in SRC they have more room and more option unlike the SOC speaking of SRC i own ton of them the only one that kinda disappoint me is Jeeg i dont hate it tho its just im a little disappointed because they didn't go the extra miles to make it better, for me this is Bandai first, hopefully it will be better when they release the weapon set for SRC Golion if they make it, think about it like the GX-04 and the SRC Grenidzer for me personally the SRC is light years better than the SOC, its more accurate and its more fun to play with, that's doesn't mean the GX-04 is awful by any means its still one of the best classics you can have and yes you can have a figure and dislike couple of things about it no harm in that, but you cant always bring the negatives about it with out talking about the positives you can say i like the figure because of 1 2 3, and i don't like the figure because of 1 2 3, the professional way i support speak with your money theory, you like something buy it, you don't like it just don't buy it simple as that lastly thanks for sharing about your health, i wish your surgery go as smooth as possible

It would be nice if the legs could detach and part swap for anime accurate covers. But also work in toy mode as is. Best of both worlds. Maybe the option parts will be an add-on pack to get more money out of us.

so after seeing voltron for the last 2 days at nycc, i have to say this is the best voltron ive ever seen. it looks absolutely amazing in person. the pics do it no justice. its gorgeous.
my only nitpick is that the chrome/metal legs of the other 4 lions look weird against the flat metallic paint on the blacks back legs(voltrons thighs) the flat metallic looks a lot better to me.

Did you get to handle it at all? Knowing that you've been staring at him for two days and visually inspecting him is definitely reassuring. It still looks great to me. December is going to put the hurt on my wallet. Fewture Mazinger Fewture Energer (2) SOC Voltrons SHEEEEEEEESH! Not to mention Christmas gifts. LOL

unfortunately i never got to handle it. i understand that they did break him out, but im not lucky enough to have been there when it happened.
and i couldn't tell if he has any rear coverage. they had the lions sitting down in the display case.
speaking of the sitting lions, man they look cool. the waists all move in ways that make it look very natural. very nice. id seriously consider buying two sets to display the lions.
they didnt have the lion weapons on display either so i didnt get to see any of them.
