DELETED POSTS AND WILL GIVE ONLY ONE WARNING OR MEMBERS WILL BE SUSPENDED. PLEASE start acting civil and like an ADULT. I do NOT want to hear anything else unless it's on-topic about the SOC Voltron. Remember these are only pre-production prototypes so STOP causing panic until the actual production piece is in a reputable hand. Otherwise all your doing is causing drama which I have ZERO tolerance for. If a member can't get along with another member ignore their posts, don't reply, and above all else DON'T insult. It is just a frigging toy in the end. thank you chen.

I know we collect toys here and are having a vigorous debate about something but I hope we can all be mature about it and not throw snide remarks and insults. Even if another person threw it first, let’s all try and take the high road, shall we? Anyway, just to be clear, I'm not saying that s_gokin or jaylive are completely wrong or that they didn't see what they believe they're seeing. The chrome could be yellowing but I don’t think we can discount the possibility that there could be something else at play. I think to do that would be folly. I’m saying this as a graphic designer who’s worked professionally for 10+ years and also dabble in toy photography (PLUG! instagram.com/chodenjinet). I know a little bit about light and color and how images are processed so when someone shows me an image (from the internet especially) I just can’t nod my head and say “oh yes, you’re right, it is _____!” With regards to what jaylive actually saw. I believe that jaylive believes what he saw. But I'll have to see it myself to believe it. Nothing against jaylive. With regards to matt alt’s video, unfortunately, he’s doing the review on a big yellowish table in a big yellowish room so what we could potentially be seeing are just reflections from the table and room. The thing is I can be completely wrong and the chrome is yellowing but so far, speaking from professional experience, I haven’t seen enough evidence to convince me. this is exactly what i'm talking about, and in december we will see it proven. i will be surprised if it is not plain chrome on the legs because there is no reason for a different shading. it was plain chrome in the old popy golion and that is what bandai seems to be following on the soc gx71.

Maybe it will, but the final product having "plain" chrome won't prove that the pre-production units didn't have a yellow/golden tint to their legs.

but they don't, it is color / light reflection. but let's say they are gold in the prototype. now, why?

The discoloration is likely due to the chrome tarnishing and turning that color cause it's a preproduction sample. It's been handled and display at multiple shows, Constant light exposure may have cause this. Not sure why this was even brought up or discussed cause it really is a non factor. Final product will have the same type of mirror finish chrome that Bandai uses for their SoC products. This isn't like the SDCC limited version of the reissue of the Toynami Masterpiece Voltron with Gold Chrome bits, where they purposely made it gold chrome. The promo team really has no reason or intent to showcase the production sample at shows that differs from their advertises images from the Tamashii Site.

but they don't, it is color / light reflection. but let's say they are gold in the prototype. now, why? Maybe it's lighting, maybe it's white balance, maybe it's tinted chrome paint. I'm not getting into that debate because I just don't care. That's not the point I was making. My point is that even if the SOC Voltron you get in your hands in a few months doesn't have a yellow/golden hue to its legs, that doesn't mean in any way that the pre-production units you see on these pics, here, right now, didn't have a golden tint. Making a straight line between the two is just a huge fallacy.

and i ask again, why would bandai tint it gold? i don't work for bandai, but i can't think of any reason why use gold tinted legs on it.
and why go on about this color, lighting, tint thing? i don't think its tinted and that is just light effect, and others think its actually a tinted gold chrome. perfect!

Hey I have a none yellow question.
Does BBTS get their stock at the same time as retailers in Japan? Or do they get it a little later?

Hi guys, New to the boards here - and man, SOC Voltron is looking good. I'm going to Japan from the 21st to the 30th of Dec this year and wanted to pick this up in Japan My question is - I know that the release date is the 31st of Dec (according to the Nippon Yassan website) do they actually release it in Japan in a much earlier state for any of the SOC line? (This would be my first SOC) Thanks guys! Radio Kaikan in Akiba has stores that'll have it on the day, and even earlier. It'll be very easy to grab one, have fun.

Hey I have a none yellow question. Does BBTS get their stock at the same time as retailers in Japan? Or do they get it a little later? sometimes they get them very quickly, but never the same day as asian stores. but, a lot of times the price turns out to be cheaper, because shipping a big box from asia via ems or fedex is really expensive. also if you live in the united states bbts is great in case something is wrong with the figure, like defects or damage in shipping. dealing with asian stores can be frustrating when something goes wrong.

But yeah, Daimos is expensive! Saw some in Philippines and HK - hoping that they reissue him. Anyway, back to the topic - will let you guys know if there are plenty of stock in Japan for our dear Voltron.

Hey I have a none yellow question. Does BBTS get their stock at the same time as retailers in Japan? Or do they get it a little later? BBTS as a local North American dealer will typically get product a little after Japanese merchants. How much later will depend heavily on what channel it is going through to get here. If it is going through an official North American release via Bluefin, then it is almost always 30 days after Japanese release. And the pricing will be the same as Japan. If BBTS is having to import it directly through a third party source, such as with Japanese Exclusives, it may arrive faster but the price will be substantially higher.
