Keep in mind these things dont show up at everyday stores all across Japan... You'll have the most luck in somewhere like Yodobashi camera or hobby shops around akihabara or Dendentown! None of my local stores get them in, just a Joshin lets you place a reserve, but there's never any just sitting on shelves.

I'll be staying in Akihabara while in Tokyo - I guess it would be pure luck as well!

i guess this is a very late prototype the face proportions looks way better than earlier figure the only thing that's bothering is the chrome on the lions legs its getting yellowish The yellowing on the Chrome is likely caused by photoshop tinkering. Trying to adjust exposure levels from the bright white underlighting. I think we all know that they aren't going to do gold Chrome. And silver Chrome is silver Chrome. It doesn't really do subtle shades. your 100% right faelon. i don't know why some think the chrome is gold tinted. that's crazy talk.

no he doesn't. its just light reflection. kumastyle who is a real pro photographer or mrclean can corroborate what i say. but time will prove what i say is true, as soon as he's released.

I don't think you can truly tell if there's anything going on with the chrome in these pictures. There's just so many variables that could be affecting it. From the lights in the venue, reflections of nearby objects to the way the camera processes the picture to the type of monitor your computer has. I personally don't see anything concerning. Maybe Jaylive did notice some yellowing but these pictures just won't be able to tell us that.

LOL i guess this become just like the dress color in twitter back in the days here is my point of view, jaylive was actually there (physically), he used an ability most of humans have called EYES and with those magical things he saw that the chrome have a yellowish tint in them on top of that here is a photo for the figure that prove its yellowish (reposted) a different place, a different person, a different camera but same results, its very clear guys if you someone cant see the different between the sword and the lions limbs, i suggest some new glasses a very important thing worth to mention is we are talking about this particular figure, Bandai officials said its a prototype im sure the final product will fix that and will look better, however if the chrome become yellowish with time i wont be surprised

As long as the chrome doesn't become some other color that it wasn't designed to be, I'm good.
Cant wait to get this baby. Lol.

For what it's worth, here's a video review of SOC Voltron from Dengeki Hobby. It definitely looks like the metal in some parts has a slight gold tint.

yes i rewatched it again too lol, well the video is a great and final evidence that the chrome have yellowish tint in it, the figure under good lights and its moving so the "light reflecting" nonsense is not a valid excuse any more As long as the chrome doesn't become some other color that it wasn't designed to be, I'm good. Cant wait to get this baby. Lol. my point exactly, all i care about is the end product, cant wait for it the only SOC i know that have similar problem with the chrome becoming yellowish is the GX-04, one day the chrome parts decided to become yellowish lol For what it's worth, here's a video review of SOC Voltron from Dengeki Hobby. It definitely looks like the metal in some parts has a slight gold tint. i totally forgot about this video, thanks for reposting it man i hope Bandai will address this problem in the final product, i really don't want the chrome parts to becoming like this

Then again, color is just a subjective perception so some might not see it but others so. By no means does it distract from the quality of this thing, it's a monumental achievement from Bandai.

If the parts appear physically "yellowed" to the naked eye than it means they are likely hand painted prototypes, and not vacumetalized Chrome. Most true metallic paints such as Alclad II or Testors will have some yellow toning. Actual Vacumetalized Chrome will never have that. (Or if it does it will not be subtle. Straight gold or bright colors.) For actual Chrome to show up as that "yellowish" tone it is either an effect of lighting and reflections, or photo manipulation of the brightness levels. I.e. photoshop.

If its due to lightings, then the torso and thighs would also appear yellowish also right? Anyway, like you said, this is just a prototype, and the final production piece could still turn out slightly differently.

I know we collect toys here and are having a vigorous debate about something but I hope we can all be mature about it and not throw snide remarks and insults. Even if another person threw it first, let’s all try and take the high road, shall we? Anyway, just to be clear, I'm not saying that s_gokin or jaylive are completely wrong or that they didn't see what they believe they're seeing. The chrome could be yellowing but I don’t think we can discount the possibility that there could be something else at play. I think to do that would be folly. I’m saying this as a graphic designer who’s worked professionally for 10+ years and also dabble in toy photography (PLUG! instagram.com/chodenjinet). I know a little bit about light and color and how images are processed so when someone shows me an image (from the internet especially) I just can’t nod my head and say “oh yes, you’re right, it is _____!” With regards to what jaylive actually saw. I believe that jaylive believes what he saw. But I'll have to see it myself to believe it. Nothing against jaylive. With regards to matt alt’s video, unfortunately, he’s doing the review on a big yellowish table in a big yellowish room so what we could potentially be seeing are just reflections from the table and room. The thing is I can be completely wrong and the chrome is yellowing but so far, speaking from professional experience, I haven’t seen enough evidence to convince me.

DELETED POSTS AND WILL GIVE ONLY ONE WARNING OR MEMBERS WILL BE SUSPENDED.
PLEASE start acting civil and like an ADULT. I do NOT want to hear anything else unless it's on-topic about the SOC Voltron. Remember these are only pre-production prototypes so STOP causing panic until the actual production piece is in a reputable hand. Otherwise all your doing is causing drama which I have ZERO tolerance for. If a member can't get along with another member ignore their posts, don't reply, and above all else DON'T insult. It is just a frigging toy in the end.
