Why are selling KO Lions in separate boxes anyways? Buy couple Lions, get cease and desist, then have incomplete set due lack of production. Just little odd to me.

Judging by what Bandai did to Dragon Momoko late 2017, it seems they are losing their patience with Chinese KO companies. what did they do ? honestly the whole SOC KOs are brand new to me (the exact copy paste figure) Not SOC KOs, but there was a 3rd party Chinese gunpla company called Dragon Momoko that was making Master Grade kits of mechs that Bandai had not done, and also stylized versions and variants from Bandai's existing catalogue. DM was considered one of the best 3P gunpla companies out there, their material was good, the parts rarely had fitment issues. But around Summer of 2017 they started announcing PO for actual KO of Bandai kits with added weapon sets. I forgot which kits but I think Gundam Astray Blue Frame was one of them. Bandai obviously took notice of this and took action. In November of 2017 DM factory in China was raided by police, and all the molds were destroyed on site. So it is certain Bandai is very aware of the KOs coming from China, and will not hesitate to take legal steps when it pisses them off. More on this story: www.gundamkitscollection.com/2017/11/bandai-shuts-down-dragon-momoko-and.htmlWeijiang has been lucky since they've mostly been KO-ing Takara Tomy, and TT does not have the size or money to deal with legalities in China. But Bandai is a beast. Weijiang will be lucky if they actually can complete all 5 lions, so that may be part of their strategy to release one lion at a time, to cash in on whatever they can. It would suck for anyone who goes in on this to be stuck with 3 lions and Weijiang get shut down by Bandai.

They probably anticipate this might happen, so they are releasing whatever molds are complete and cash in on it ASAP. By the time they mold the Black Lion, Bandai might already be knocking at the door.

This kind of reminds of Marvel Build a Figures. Lol. You got all the pieces except one and secondary market is playing Ransom with you to pay for very limited piece. 😂😜🙏🏼 Stuck with A Voltron missing torso.

Just little odd to me. 3rd party makers normally release 1 piece at a time so that the money earn can be used for the next piece. They don't invest too many money at one time. what did they do ? honestly the whole SOC KOs are brand new to me (the exact copy paste figure) Not SOC KOs, but there was a 3rd party Chinese gunpla company called Dragon Momoko that was making Master Grade kits of mechs that Bandai had not done, and also stylized versions and variants from Bandai's existing catalogue. Everyone should know that BANDAI = GUNDAM , so I can see them doing what they did to DM, it was just too close to their own stuff. But this is Voltron and that does not equal to Bandai as it does with Gundam. Wei Jiang lost his marbles if he thinks he is selling a ko for nearly $300! I though he was going for $150 for the full set. I think he forgot he is selling a ko. Arms $50, Legs $60, Torso and accesories $80... That’s $300!!!! Hell no! to be fair ,another member said their whole seller price is around $25 for the arms so that's what Wei Jiang is selling them at. the $50 is the reseller price.

But this is Voltron and that does not equal to Bandai as it does with Gundam. That's a good point. For Gundam, it's understandable for Bandai to be protective of an incredibly profitable and active property. But for a one-time thing like the SOC Voltron, it's hard to tell if they would be as protective over that to go through such lengths.

thanks for the info guys
im sure Bandai is very aware of how successful the GX-71, but why they didnt reissued it ? the GX-31V got a reissue about a month later, the new GX48k got another production run while its on preorder ! so again why they dont reissue the GX-71 ? a 2nd run for it will be another hit since alot of people still didnt get one not to mention those who want a 2nd unit to display in the lions mode
maybe its a license issue ?

I'm guessing there hasn't been a reissue because of a hold up with World Events Productions. The original GoLion/Voltron is Bandai's #1 selling gokin of all time. And. current demand is high. Bandai has no reason not to.

After seeing so much of the Playmates Classic '84 Voltron all over Facebook and Instagram, it totally makes me appreciate how beautiful the SOC is all the more.

Even still, if there was minimal markup, its still going to cost $200+. which honestly isnt that bad. but TF-Direct $50 plus shipping. hell no.

Specially if it has WeiJang quality. Siriusly the quality is very good sometime it surpass the original. Becides, when I asked them about the wholesale price it's actually 37$ not 25$.

I have, and always will be, against KO and bootleg toys/figures. Never liked them. Of course like most collectors I have run into a few of them, either by purchasing them by mistake or seeing them in person. It's also the reason I avoid 3rd party Transformers figures...it's just..wrong.
Now Voltron/Golion is being targeted for that purpose? I hope Bandai shuts this operation down too. I love the SOC line too much to see it desecrated by these people who don't have any respect for copyright laws and intellectual properties.

Granted if Bandai does announce a reissue of the SoC Voltron,I would drop the KO version in a heartbeat even with the money I have invested in the Red Lion right now. It is a huge matter of when and that WEP license Bandai has I am unsure is still up atm.
