How are the lion bots btw? Would they be fine if I displayed them in lion mode?

I have quite a few early lionbots with chrome joints that display just as well and my most prized piece is actually a lionbot where a sticker saying lionbot covered over the Chinese lettering on the front of the box. I peeled it off and was floored to see the script. So cool still gives me the butterflies thinking about how cool that was. In some lionbots You can see where Bandai has been machined out of the mold. The new lionbots on eBay I do not like but I get more excited over a Chrome elbow lionbot with carded weapons than I do a popy. I only need one lionbot whicj is the king lion box version . I haven't been able to find one in 20 yrs of collecting that was in mint condition because I have only ever seen two for sale, one was selling for twenty thousand dollars and the other was pretty thrashed with badly mangled box.

How are the lion bots btw? Would they be fine if I displayed them in lion mode? As the story goes, the first LionBots were made made after hours, and on weekends by POPY factory workers. They were beautifully crafted by people who cared. When BANDAI stopped producing Voltrons, the molds wound up with a company known as "Die-Cast Metal". They've been pumping out LionBots since the '80s - making it one of the most common toys in the world. Over time, quality has definitely gone down hill. I've had a couple of the LionBots that are currently produced and sold on eBay. One I bought so my kid's Matchbox would have weapons. The other was part of a collection I acquired. I got rid of them both. The big problem: the paint apps - sloppy doesn't begin to describe these things. There were splashes of paint literally ALL OVER the lion's faces. I mean EVERYWHERE. It was as if someone used the heads as dropcloths while painting their ceiling. It was like the guy who made them was ready to nod off on smack. I thought it was a prank until I got 2 in a row that looked like that. Also, although the chrome was shiney, it had a gray tint compared to a GoLion/Matchbox Voltron. If you're looking for lions to display, consider picking up a loose GoLion on eBay. They're the highest quality, and they often have less play wear than Voltrons do. You can find them at auction for $200-$250. |

I owned a Lionbot when I was kid. It’s still in my parents garage somewhere. I bought it brand new from the flea market with money I saved up. Back then Taiwanese KOs of Godaikins can be found easily at flea markets.

Sooo, I liked this picture so much, I had an acrylic print of it made. I didn't know how it would turn out, but after I received it, I was like "Wow!". So you could say I was pleased.

Maybe because it was sent during Chines new year that's why its late. Just sent them an email they reply to you and tell where is it at. |

Honestly,just comparing the KO with the official release makes me want a reissue even more. I don't think I will be getting the other KO Lions to be honest.

maybe they will milk it and release multiple versions v1 v2 v3 etc

It's unfortunate that this has become a KO thread. yea i agree on that, but since its related i can understand lol If that was the case,we may have heard from Bandai already. It is a bit worrying that Bandai has made no news of a reissue of sorts for over a year now. its hard to go legally after Chinese based companies that do KOs , remember MT and their infamous KOB i guess Bandai understand the demand but they dont have a license to do again, if you remember the GX-31V Voltes got reissued about a month after the release because the demand was crushing the GX-48K Big O got a 2nd release while it still preorder |
