I made some display space for my Voltron yesterday. I think I need some sort of bases to raise the figures in the back. Can you see Baikanfu? Voltron is really huge.

A really cost effective thing I have found to use as risers is those assorted small plastic display boxes you can get at Hobby Lobby and similar for Car Models and such. The 3" cubes they use for baseballs are particularly useful.

faelon I don't think something like what they use for baseballs is practical for robot figures. falling off would be a constant worry. I will figure something out.

Actually i find the KOB (the one on the right I presume?) looks better. More details than the one on the left. Not a big fan of Voltron, so i have little knowledge on anime accuracy and putting build quality aside, i do prefer the KOB one. At least looks wise. there is no wrong answer here bro both looks awesome and a must have for every Voltron fan, the SOC is anime accurate and the KOB is more like a modern version, its even more awesome if we have the V2

To me, this is so much more than just a gokin. I grew up watching Voltron after school, but my family could never afford the toy. Today, collecting robots is something I take pleasure in with my son - it binds us. Of all the Voltrons and Golions we have, I must say, this may be the most beautiful of all. To me, this is a timeless work of art.
As my son and I unboxed this, we were in awe. Everything just seemed so perfect. He had such wonder in his eyes. It arrived the day that "Legendary Defender: season two" dropped. We truly immersed ourselves in Voltron's universe. Wow, I'm a nerd. But I love it. The GX-71 will always serve as a material reminder of this moment; it's something that will keep this wonderful hobby in my son's heart long after I'm gone.

faelon I don't think something like what they use for baseballs is practical for robot figures. falling off would be a constant worry. I will figure something out. I use them quite a bit for the smaller figures such as SRC's and smaller SOC's. They've been rock solid stable. Even when putting one foot on each. I wouldn't put something massive such as Ideon on them. I've also used them in combination with a narrow glass plate to create an elevated shelf to the rear of a display. As long as your cabinetry is not subject to shaking or impacts it's a non issue. I have considered getting a few doll stands to more safely secure a few of the more worrying figures. Mainly Ideon, Gunbuster and the Miracle Metals Vehicle Voltron, which always seem a bit tippier. I'm not thrilled with my current approach of wedging them into corners where they have some support.

Neither of my shoulder locking tabs will engage, no matter the force or how much I fidget with the shoulder. The solution was to pull the shoulder out, fully extend the locking tab and then line it all up as the shoulder is pushed into place. You will need to feel your way through it and focus as it all comes together, but the end result is a firm locked-in shoulder(s). The tabs do indeed go all the way in, not half way as mine originally did. Here's a glamour shot : ) - www.flickr.com/photos/49660795@N05/32429325006/in/dateposted-public/lightbox/

Would someone mind taking a picture overhead of the shoulders with the tabs locked in? Just curious to compare it to mine and see how far they should really go when properly locked. Mine seem to be a bit more than halfway past the middle in. No picture, but once locked in the little movable section travels over to the furthest possible limit, the side on which does not lock it is about half way over as you describe. It definitely 'clicks' when it engages properly. Even just half engaged ensures that the shoulder does not move, I do hope we can find a solution to this seemingly common issue. edit: oops, people already replied to this.....

This is what the shoulder tab looks like when fully engaged and locked in. One should hear a loud click.

Man, this toy looks good in ANY angle.....
There're usually a badside to almost everything, but wow. This toy looks good in close up, odd angles, extreme angle, candid shots, it can take anything and still come out looking like adonis.
How many toys, cars, people ect can you say about that?

I wonder how long the honeymoon period will last??? 14 years post my (actual) honeymoon, and it's only getting better. I figure the GX-71 will do just as well; it's just that good XD

For me it will last a while. I am so in love with this figure that I am actually considering doing additional shoots. While I think the ones I posted on page 81 of this thread are good...I think I need some shots of the lions themselves with their weapons attached. Maybe different poses for Voltron as well.

Ok that does it. Once I get all the netflix Voltron episodes, i'm gonna re-encode the original voltron theme into them.
