Hello guys, i want to share this with the forum today it was a pleasure to meet one of the bros here RJ member bader in person, we met here at RJ first then start chatting on Instagram then kik talking about this hobby and random things i found out that he used to be my far neighbor lol small world, so after some planing we decided to meet today we met at a coffee shop and we sat there for hours talking about this hobby, what we want to get in the future and of course Bandai Golion took the lion share of our conversation among other things im honestly glad that i met a fellow RJ member in person, and we planed to met again so i thought this will be a good idea for a thread to show that in here at RJ we are like family even if we disagree with each other or have different preferences, this hobby should bring us together and make us friends so if you recently met a fellow RJ member and feel like sharing this thread will be for that

Hello Gang yesterday i had the pleasure of meeting yet another RJ member Coldbreakar we live in the same city but we are kinda far from each other, we decided to meet yesterday at a coffee shop located kinda between us, and we sat there for hours, talking about our future plans what we will get, along with anime and super robots in general, and time passed by without realizing lol before we finish the meeting he was kind enough to bring with him the Action Toys Daitetsujin 17 without me asking him, and honestly i was surprised how well done the figure is, it was heavy and felt like it was really well made Bandai Like, to be honest i have a tiny background about the robot and the photos didn't do give it justice, so i think i might grab one lol

I would like to meet local super robot collectors in my area(SoCal). However, from what I noticed most super robot collectors tend to be loners or just keep to themselves. I meet them locally whenever I'm seller or attend toy shows. Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers and Gi Joe collectors tend to be lot more social at least in my area. Sometimes we hang out and have collector trade nights then couple drinks etc. I know couple RJ members but they are not as active anymore and sold some of their collection to me. Some of the other super robot collectors/sellers I know don't care to be on forums or social media either.

Perhaps it's because this is such an expensive hobby. People fear to open their homes to others. But I have hosted many forum members at my home, and I have visited the collections of many others. There are many members who would love to meet people with similar interests. We are a rare breed, and most people can't share their collections readily with others, since many people look down on this hobby ("you collect toys?!?!"). I really enjoy and treasure each and every visit with fellow collectors.

I’ve had mixed results meeting collectors. But I’ve also made some very good friends. There is something about super robots that is a bit more reclusive. I think FB has opened things up more than forums can though, bc forums are great for anonymity but FB often denotes there being an element of presenting more of your life than just this shared goofy, niche hobby.

I really enjoy and treasure each and every visit with fellow collectors. it wasn't always expensive, remember the good old days when a $130 will get you a huge diecast figure lol i greet you for for open your home for other collectors for me it became kinda impossible after a friend of mine got his whole collection stolen i was building the ultimate room for my collection and gaming but after that accident i moved every thing to much safer place and about those noobs who say "you collect toys" i have alot of people who told me the same thing some even dare and say you are wasting your money ! i reply this hobby is my age and up, and this my money not yours so i will do what i pleased with it I’ve had mixed results meeting collectors. I haven't heard from jwm and johnparas/Steve Armstrong in a long while.

I got to meet with Lejam at TFCON in Chicago a couple years back. It was a good time. He worked a booth, and I got to chat with him about toys, and animation. He signed some production items for me, and we got to wander around and gawk at the Machine Robo display. Hopefully I get to go back to Chicago this year and meet some more of you. I think there are some members here located in Chicago.
The last bot con, I got to hang out with Robby Musso. He drew at a booth there. I got some cool stuff from him as well, and we chatted about the industry and toys. I also hung out with the Chosen Prime crew some afterwards, but I don't think they are on here.

Hey all, posting an opportunity to meet up, and see a bunch of my collection, and shop a big toy show. I'll be set up as a vendor in NJ, at www.ToyConNJ.com , next weekend April 21-22, in Parsippany NJ, which is only 1/2 hr from Manhattan, in north NJ, close to NY, PA, NJ, CT. Usually several of the robot toy groups show up and we get to hang out, trade, & catch up in person. I'm not the only one there with Japanese toys, but I always go with a big booth area, a ton of variety in vintage to 90s stuff usually. Most shows I get a team up in the booth area with Chachipower of RocketpunchArmy reviews, and/or Sean(diecone)with his stuff from NYC. Several other toy groups that focus on TFs and 80s vintage make it one of their meetups as well. If you're in the Metro NY/NJ area, come on out either day! It's a good show, with lots of other stuff set up like video arcade, Japanese game arcades, RC race track, Gundam building , Hot Wheels racing, etc. See the site or FB page. I get stuck having to stay mostly all weekend, with tables area, so always glad to see any of the gang show up and open some rare boxes and talk toys!

Dudes! I crash landed in the Frozen North 31 years ago. Northern Michigan, actually, but I swear I can see the North Pole out my window some days. I would love to meet up with any of my nerd bros. Who's around, though?
