Do you guys think that Aphrodai-A will get the DC treatment some day? Maybe, but honestly the Aphrodai-A actually look or fit right in with DC look. They are very sleek. I actually have the girls Standing with my DC and they fit together very nicely. Only thing I would change if any is covering screw holes in the back.

Bandai milking Mazinger again, so GX-70 and GX-73 are getting re-issues in August 2018. If you missed it the first time around, here's another chance to get it. www.1999.co.jp/eng/10413082www.1999.co.jp/eng/10452549Kind of strange to see reissue so soon, because it felt like GX-70 and GX-73 stayed on the shelf much longer than usual for SOC. Possibly because we already have so many versions of the two. Personally, I initially passed on Dynamic Classic because I didn't like skinny Mazinger Z but then it grew on me. I was lucky to find Nippon Yasan had Getter DC on sale for 6800 yen, so I grabbed one. Then I went looking for the Mazingers. I was surprised to not only find them in stock 10 months after release (GX-70), and six months after release (GX-73), but they were also on sale! Got them for $100 and $120, respectively.

if i remember correctly the first production run sold out in no time but the 2nd production run took some time to sell, not every where tho, for example AE, HLJ and amiami all were sold out but some stores are struggling with it lol
you might be right

Yeah, snagged another one and a couple other things, even though I already have a GX-70. Price too good to pass. Would make a great Christmas gift.

Sometimes it's the little things. The really, really little things. I'd always dug GX-70's proportions, but aside from feeling like I didn't need another Mazinger, there were a few things that bugged me. So when I finally got it, I made some small modifications.
First up was the easy stuff. Personal preference: I've never been a fan of the blue mullet that Mazinger had later on, so (even though it's not screen accurate for this version), I painted it silver. I also filled in and painted over the slot for the scrander's radio mast since it's supposed to be retracted when the scrander is attached.
Then the eyes. That sharp angle running through the middle of the eyes always bugged me. Just didn't look like Mazinger to me. Since the figure came with an extra face where the eyes weren't lit up, I had a backup to work with. Using a sharp x-acto blade, I scraped away the angle and gave the eyes a subtle curve that contrasted with the angle on the face. A small piece of 2000 grit sandpaper and some gold paint finished it up.
I couldn't get it to show up in pics, but the gold paint I used for the eyes is also more reflective than the original gold paint. Catches the light like gold chrome or gold foil. If you can't even tell the difference, I don't blame you. My pics aren't great, and even if they were, it's a small thing to be bothered by. But for me, Mazinger's new eyes make all the difference on this figure.

Thanks greengetterguy!
Can I ask what brand of gold paint you used on the eyes? It’s actually a cheap acrylic I got from a craft store more than a decade or two ago. Surprisingly, it looks like they still make that color: plaidonline.com/products/delta-ceramcoat-acrylic-paint-metallic-14k-gold-2After the paint dried I carefully buffed the eyes to a high shine using a q-tip.
