Sorry to get back late! computer server was down for 4 days! That head was either in direct sunlight, or the guy was a heavy smoker! The picture references I have from Takara show he was issued with a clear head. I have never seen a perfectly clear head for him or a cyborg.  |

I don't understand Merts post either Hippy. In England what does "dude" and wotcher mean? In texas kids say Hey Dude! and we have dude ranches. Trying to understand other countries slang.  |

Nice to hear from you again. “Wotcher” is quaint cockney for hello. “Dude” is an Americanism; what else can you say to Mert’s post? I’ve heard the expression “dude ranch” and I know it’s associated with cowboy culture, but please tell me what it means in this context. Does it just mean that cowboys are dudes? There is a short story by my favourite writer, Philip Jose Farmer, called “J. C. at the Dude Ranch” in which Christ and Satan are incarnated as cowboys. Check it out if your religious sensibilities are not easily offended!
I do try to play up my Englishness as much as I can on this site and to be as verbose as possible. It’s because the whole chatroom thing tends towards abbreviated and deliberately mis-spelled lingo, which, of course I disapprove of, and I’m asserting my nationality in an international forum, plus I’m anonymous and don’t have to worry about coming across as a total nerd (we’re all toy nerds here anyway). I do talk a bit funny, even by English standards.

If I was attackin your lingo it would be contradictin my handle. I like to understand catch phrases and words. Like here in Texas Corn's high as an elephant's eye. My favorite is the Aussies. I have three knee bighters myself! Don't you have a rivalry in Cricket about winning the ashes? Rugby, Cricket, and Aussie Rules!, make Usa's sports of baseball and football look lame! Dude ranch is just a bunch of cowboys workin the cattle on a ranch. No homo thing. Keep the interestin words comin Hippey! |
