So I just saw the second video Sentinel's international facebook page released and unfortunately, putting Rom into Kenryu requires a little parts removal with the shoulder armor and potentially Kenryu's arms. I'm not sure I agree with the engineering they chose for the arms. Putting Kenryu in Baikanfu requires the same parts removal except the shoulder pads are on hinges. Boy, the partsforming is strong with this one. The SOC (and even the ES Gokin one) was a perfect transformation without any parts removal, right? The removal of the arms for pile formation sucks big time, but looks like Kenryu does not need to have his fists removed to fit in Baikanfu. I hope this translates to a very solid figure with exceptional articulation :/

Word on the street, is that this set is mostly plastic and only the inner joints are metal. I think I will just wait for a sale or pickup the bandai reissue down the road.

This goes for quite a few Sentinel and Bandai products alike. The only company doing consistent outer shells in Diecast is ArtStorm with the Fewture Models EX stuff.

Sentinel's metamaforce line has had a significant portion of the outer body being cast in metal such as the getters, dancouga and gaiking. It's generally thinner metal, but still metal. I figured Baikanfu would be similar especially at that ridiculous price point. Bandai's worked well had a good portion of metal content and it's $120 less and comes with more.

I actually have the whole metamor-force line and the majority of the bodies are indeed plastics.

I actually have the whole metamor-force line and the majority of the bodies are indeed plastics. It depends on your definition of what a good amount of metal content is for a transforming gokin and I would say the metamor-force has more or less been fairly consistent with their diecast content. If Baikanfu has similar metal content to Dancouga or Gaiking here ie: legs, feet, chest, shoulders then it should be fine, it could just be thinly cast like Sentinel's usual diecast molding. Nevertheless, saying Sentinel's Metamor-force line has been mainly plastic is something I cannot agree with. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Even in that picture of Dancouga the majority of the outer body is mostly plastic. What am I missing here? When I think exceptional diecast content whether it be thinly cast or not, I think along the lines of ArtStorm stuff where you can stick magnets to quite a bit of the outer body. I understand it's all subjective to a point but there's no denying that there's a significant difference between that stuff and diecast shoulderpads/shins. Sentinel stuff is generally "light" on both diecast and heavy plastics all around compared to stuff like the SoCs and other, so none of this is news. Outside of Giant Gorg, Sentinel stuff isn't something you buy for a significant amount of diecast. Regardless of all of this side-banter, I'm extremely excited for Baikanfu as even though I'm a Gokin collector, what leans me towards Sentinel branded and even partner-produced products is their ability to bring Gokin/diecast toys toy a competitive level with stuff like figuarts and much more "toy"-type collections with their accurate designs and insane articulation.

On the bright side Sentinel has made some pretty cool packaging with what looks to be art by Masami Obari himself. And styrofoam packaging woo! Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Do the posters not see when they get nothing but those Photobucket "Please Update Your Account to Enable Third Party Hosting" messages instead of pictures? We seem to be getting bombarded with them an awful lot lately?

The sculpt looks great and does a great job conveying the image and feel of the Baikanfu that I remember, even though it's not screen accurate. It makes a difference when the stylization is done by one of the the creator of the show instead of a random toy designer.
On the other hand, I hope the white plastic doesn't look so cheap in person as it does on the pictures and videos so far.

This design bugs me. Baikanfu looks like its wearing a pants suit. Good to see sen-ti-nel was able to achieve dynamic poses with the design. However, the current video showing the combining of the figures together look cumbersome and fiddly. Parts needed to be removed as well, so not perfect transformation/combining.

The plus side is that there really haven't been any high quality pics or video put out there of it so fingers crossed that it's the case in regards to the white parts. ---------------------------------------- U./S. Payment requessts should be incoming shortly as the official release state was today.
