$300 ! what are they smoking they are getting in Fewture price range which is nonsense, Bandai bargaining chip is affordable figures, with Golion i understand it wasn't cheap to get a license but with this i really dont get it i will wait for Japanese retailers to open their PO on it hopefully they will give a good discount

I thought 300 was assumed by everyone who was knowledgeable in SoC.

It's the same price as Voltron, which it is very very similar to in many ways. And in the same general ball park as GGG. You can't really compare to Fewture. Fewture largely does well sculpted Gokin action figures. Their strength is in art design and shaping. They haven't really tackled a big combiner yet where each piece must also be several other things.

I thought 300 was assumed by everyone who was knowledgeable in SoC. i honestly don't recall the GX-68 was for $300, it was less than that on AE when they first open their PO, it was like $269 ? and you can still find it on that price range if you know where to look asking $299.99 for an SOC is a bit crazy the GX-31V 40th anniversary cost about half of that price and its a very well engineered huge combiner figure even the most wanted SOC which is Golion was offered for less than that with this asking price Daizyujin is the most expensive SOC ever

Plastic prices are not as cheap as they used to be. I think I payed $280 for SoC Gaogaigar on his own, not counting other releases to go with him. Plus these Guardian Beasts that make up the Megazord have a good amount of mass for each piece. I cannot say the same for Voltes V where not all parts were as massive or intricate.

SoC GaoGaiGar retailed for 30,000 yen and so does Voltron. You can go on HLJ right now and see its original retail price. Daizyujin is not breaking new ground here with its price tag.

So that was in 2015 around my Birthday at the end of September. Or was it after? I might need to check that out. No wait. It was 2/24/15 when it shipped out. So I guess it was not long after it got released.

Checking the link below, GGG, Golion and Megazord are all the same price. However, retailers have varying prices for GGG because around 2014 the yen to dollar exchange rate was around 124 yen to the dollar whereas now it's about 104 yen to the dollar. There has not necessarily been a price increase, but dollar fluctuations like time and time again. tamashii.jp/item_brand/chogokintamashii/?wovn=en

So anyone know who has it at the best price so far? They have been more or less the same with Amazon winning out over BBTS depending on where you live and whether you will get taxed on it.

tamashii.jp/special/daizyujin/en/index.htmlA detailed page, which includes where all the diecast/articulation is located on each Zord, as well as some engineering documentation. A fun read, and it confirms that there is a waist joint.

Btw, might be a bit cheaper to get it locally via amzn-us as their preorder-page for it is already up: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZNJOUJ/US$299.99 June 15, 2017 release In contrast, Japanese release is April-2017 and will definitely be EMS or FEDEX shipping-fees for it. Seems not listed on amazn-ca as of yet, tho.

Might want to keep an eye on NY price, their PO prices seems to be better than amiami recently. However, note that waiting for NY's PO could mean missing out completely on the amiami PO.
