the articulation and the joints design in Voltron are better it can hold and do more poses than Daizyujin i honestly dont get it, why do people complain about Daizyujin ? while in fact its the best version of the robot out there true Voltron is better, but that doesn't mean Daizyujin is bad, the robot only came with a sword and a shield so how can they add more accessories ? LOL i like the GX-71 and GX-72 and they both looks good together

I agree. The main reason people have a gripe with this release really has to do with how good Voltron is, and that Daizyujin is at the same price point but not quite on par with Voltron. The release schedule right after Voltron didn't help either.
It's a really fun toy! I think it would have been better received if not for how good Voltron was.

I agree, Voltron has set the bar, almost 12 inches, alot of die cast content, alot of accessories, a stand etc... I do think at most, it should've priced been the same as the renewal Dancouga. This is still the definite Megazord to own

I also noticed people miss some of the diecast content in T-rex's hips, sabertooth's legs and the inside of triceraptop's treads in their reviews. Daizyujin probably would get better reviews if the big guy cost closer to $240 rather than $300. And for folks saying it's the worst SOC, never handled the EVAs, or Zambot 3.

I don't think it's one of the worst SOC. It was not something I needed to get but I think it is the best repinstation of this zord fans are going to get. I also agree coming out right after Voltron was not a good thing for it.

Yeah some of us mentioned on previous pages we know it Daizyujin only has sword and shield but accessories wise extra better hands, effect pieces, articulated shoulder cannons as an extra set and maybe even mini power ranger figurines. Just something extra added in.

I'm going to be straight up... I literally clicked this thread to see if anyone was interested in buying mine because I'm just over even looking at it, to see this and be disappointed knowing I'll never get rid of the thing.

I can't believe you guys, you're reacting like you bought the legacy megazord lol. This thing is Gorgeous, don't you like dinosaurs? I'm having a hard time understanding why a lot of you are so disapponted to the point of regretting buying it. I get some people feel the gx-72 isn't worth the msrp but some react like it's a piece of trash. I thinks this is a case of mass hysteria to be honest.

While I understand this set should have been cheaper, it's still a fantastic piece. I guess some collectors can't appreciate what they have. This is the best daizyujin a sentai or PR can could dream of.

But I don't think you need to be a pr fan to appreciate some things like the articulation, design and pair apps. Maybe I'm wrong, who's knows but I didn't expect reactions of complete disgust by it. If I had money I'd buy all the unwanted megazord sand set up a charity for them hahahha. But what kills me is that if they do release a SOC dragonzord, the megazord price will go wayyy up. It's a reality we have to face the tommy fan base talks with green, and by I mean cash. Oh well, I'd love to see a SOC dragon shiza but if not, I'm satisfied with this piece.

Has nothing to do with price as 300 bucks is fairly expendable cash. For me, it's just the toy itself where I've got a lot of truly awesome, standout pieces, and it really just doesn't fit the standard of the rest of the stuff on my shelves.
The other half of me is saying meh just keep it in case of a Dragonzord release as it'd make a great display. Unfortunately I do wonder where the fan interest in this piece puts the hopes of that.

I'm going to decline delving into it because I already see that you are a super fan of the product (which is fine and I'm glad you love it) and it's just going to lead to unnecessary debate that won't change either of ours opinions. --------------------------------------------- Now I'm really thinking about the thought of Bandai potentially being soured on the thought of more MMPR stuff in this line; hoping not.

I'm by no means a huge chogokin collector and I don't even own SOC Voltron so it's not like that's tarnishing my view of Daizyujin. However, the fact remains that I paid 450 Canadian dollars for this toy because I thought it would go the way of Voltron and become ridiculously expensive on the scalpers market. Seeing that it has only gotten cheaper is pretty infuriating when that kind of cash isn't exactly disposable for me.

The price is not what makes it garbage IMO... its the non articulated cannons, crappy head articulation, hands that suck at holding the shield, forearms that dont lock (WTF!!!), crappy leg connections, lack of unperfect transformation options (removable tail, smaller chest piece, extra hands). This is all my opinion so dont flame me im still keeping it but its one of the most disappointing SOC releases ive ever bought.

I still like mine, but its really only a step up from the Legacy in terms of articulation and deco. For the SOC name and price, it should have been perfect and its not and that's really where a lot of the bad taste comes from.

I still like mine, but its really only a step up from the Legacy in terms of articulation and deco. For the SOC name and price, it should have been perfect and its not and that's really where a lot of the bad taste comes from. I would say the SOC is more than 1 step above the legacy megazord. The legacy megazord only has rotation at the shoulders and hips. Furthermore, the legacy megazord requires like 80% stickers to look good. I presume if a collector has owned multiple sentai toys in their life you can truly appreciate this piece for finally giving us a large scaled combining diecast megazord with articulation from head to toe. Legacy zords frustrate me to no end. For example, the legacy ninja megazord has full articulation from the waist down, but basically nothing from the waist up. The head on the ninja megazord can look up, but not side to side. The white tigerzord has knee joints, but no hip, ankle or any other articulation from the waist down. For me, megazord toys over the years have only gone 1/2 way to 2/3 of the way there to making a modern all around good figure, but the SOC has finally made it all the way there. Granted the SOC stumbles on it's way to the finish line, it still made it. Is the SOC perfect, no, but if this is the first step for Bandai to go into the direction of making high end sentai pieces, I would say it's a fantastic step in the right way. If Bandai has more sentai designs planned, I hope they can continue to refine and improve their engineering of these blocky and iconic designs. And maybe hiring PLEX to design the SOC was a mistake, because this design team has only been designing megazords with little to no articulation.
