parts swapping is a must if there is any hope of making combiners such as albegas resemble anything like the show. that's why i don't consider it bad or poor quality. otherwise the figure ends up looking like the studio half eye combining getters, which are very expensive and while they combine without parts swapping, they look terrible at the end. i never bought the big-x, but he looks very fragile with all those small parts, like a detailed model kit fragile. the albegas is nothing like that.

ITS A MUST.. if the company is "ill-equipped" to make it work. its a "Tony Stark able to build this in a cave.. with a box of scraps" "Im not Tony Stark" thing hehe.. Theyre not Bandai. And I forgive Evo toys for that. And props to Evo Toys for making what Bandai dont dare releasing.

still Bandai offer quality which is something ET need to put in their products, for me its not enough to have a robot that no one want to make but with below average quality i rather wait for a decent release, also ET products are over priced for plastic toys

well.. if youre releasing products faster than chris tucker's mouth hehe.. and only armed with "magnetic technology".. i guess u can only go as far as resorting to shorcuts in transformations. u have a very limited time for testing to make redesign and adjustments. Its probably done so as they could release the license first and beat the other companies to it.

licenses are not only awarded by the character, but also the type of figure that will be made. evolution toy got the go nagai licenses, but I'm sure they are not allowed to even try to make a mazinger figure that could possibly compare to bandai's soc figures. evolution toy can make great diecast stuff, like their metal action lineup, but i'm sure they are not allowed to compete with the soc line. as far as transformation, research and development can only go so far anyway. not even bandai has been able to make a classic combiner that looks like what you see on tv without swapping or removing parts. not even the geniouses of studio half eye have been able to do it. they have come close with the gurren lagann, gaiking, gaofighgar, and a few srwog robots, but the results are not really perfect. and they take ages to make their figures.

hehe.. i dunnno about that logic of not even allowed or trying to compete with Bandai.. u got products that as expensive as SOC and sometimes more.. but that does not have diecast, has lazy shorcut transformations and if unlucky, ull get crappy quality in some of thier releases.. thats a recipe for disaster hehe.. in which youll going to go down eventually. i would probably believe more if the reasoning was is that Evo Toys is riding off a mantra that they are the only ones having released a particular character as of the moment... which is obviously a major reason. look at the hype brought about by Albegas, Big Dai X, Dai Apollon, Go Nagai robo heads, Mazinger beasts or even Mekanda announcement... compared with products that also released by Bandai.. like that Getter Robo G that no one cares about and now at discount prices.. s Gokin i would love to complete the Voltron trio of Golion, Dairugger, and Albegas in modern diecast form. they will join Daltanious.. supposedly the original Voltron hehe..

If thats the case.. then Toynami was not at fault in releasing underwhelming Voltrons.. even if they can actually kick Bandai's a**.. because WEP does not want to. can be a nice excuse. Unfortunate indeed hehe...

licensing these things is not a simple thing, that's why there's so many bootlegs or third parties, and in the transformers figures arena, the third parties seem to make better quality toys than the licensed companies. contracts are crazy detailed and full of clauses that cannot be dismissed. i'm sure bandai is the king of licensing, and they probably know how to eliminate any competition legally. but there's always someone that finds loopholes, like the smaller companies that sell event exclusive garage kits of licensed characters, which is apparently legal even if they don't own the licenses. i know this is the wrong thread but the toynami voltron was very cool when it was first released, and their giant all plastic voltron is absolutely not bad, except for the crack-smoking price they gave it. the toynami's giant robo is still unbeatable to this day for what you got for the price. but anyway, i believe this mazinger z will be an amazing figure and i have peace of mind because the company evolution toy is involved in making it, but only time can tell.

even some of new ET products is a fail one of my friends just got Grendizer Giga and ton of complains about the horns, the cheap plastic and it was overpriced now since Bandai is doing voltron the hopes are really high for Albegas and Dairugger

i have the evolution toy grendizer giga and it is perfectly fine. also other collectors on facebook have also praised it.
i can't wait until this 40cm mazinger gets here, so i can have a truly nice mazinger z to display with my threezero aphrodite and threezero getter robo. they need a good looking mazinger z, not that deformity threezero made.
