Dougram turned out pretty great. Opened mine yesterday. Solid, sturdy, excellent articulation, diecast joints feels snug & smooth, and the diecast feet helped give it some heft. However, some accessories are held on by a straight smooth peg (like the missile pod and the long cannon), which loosen up every time you rotate it, and need to push them back in fully. As if we have 2 step forward with the articulation design, and one step back on the old-school pegs. Also, the whole figure is pretty much a Robot Damashii with added diecast parts, so it feels a bit overpriced at 12800yen, even with the small upgrades.
Great figure. Not so great price tag.

Happy with the Dougram. Hopefully Bandai keep their promise to release Soltice Roundfacer as they teased using silhouette before. And that Xabungle will need Walker Gallia as company

Just opened my Dougram. Feel compelled to post. I'm blown away. Not as much as with SOC GoLion; not quite. But still...wow. I'm surprised by how solid it is. I guess maybe in the back of my mind I was expecting something more like an assembled model kit. But this thing is a satisfying, pound-it-across-the-desk toy.
I admit to being clouded by nostalgia. The Revell "Robotech Defender" re-releases of the Takara kits were a huge part of my childhood. I probably built 1 or two kits of each of the dougram designs. I also had the Takara 1/72nd scale dual-models of Dougram and the Roundfacer, though I had no idea of the stories behind them.
Still can't believe this thing exists. GRAAAAAAAAHHHHHhhhhhh! So awesome. I hope they continue after the Roundfacer. I'd love to see the Ironfoot and Bushman at least.
But damn. Just a year or two ago I though my collection was nearing completion. Now SOC has my interest again, and I'm collecting Hi-metals from 3 series, along with Ultraman figuarts and absolute chogokins. Just when I thought I was out...

Am I the only one quietly building an old school Battletech Medium Lance on the shelf behind their desk?

Am I the only one quietly building an old school Battletech Medium Lance on the shelf behind their desk? Not sure, but here's my BT lances so far with it... Carlyle's Commandos command lance(Phoenix Hawk, Shadow Hawk, Wasp, Wasp) Trellwan Lancers (minus the Locust)(Stinger, Shadow Hawk, Wasp, Wasp, hovercraft) Waiting on the Griffin, the Wolverine, the Rifleman, and the Warhammer to make some Gray Death Legion lances. Think I can use the Robot Damashii RGM-79 as my COM-1A Commando mech? Maybe the Black Widow Company lances will be easier to do, instead...

As cool as those are, I don't know if I want any of those sand getting stuck and trapped inside the joints and body cavities

Really looking forward for Bandai to make Soltic Roundfacer. Really like this Dougram!

Just got my Dougram. I love this guy! Heft is decent. I was hoping for a touch more weight, but still far better than the Valkyries. Articulation is superb. Paint and detailing is amazing. They can't make a Roundfacer fast enough.

Hard to say. In a way, I did feel I overpaid for this guy. But at the same time, it is a very good figure, and probably the best Dougram on the market. Its pretty much a DX Robot Damashii.
Watchout for the painted feet. I find mine started to have some paint wear on the edges, when I barely pose it all that much. Looks like the paint on that diecast feet is a bit thin.

It's a bit high for a figure of the size. Although honestly it is a hair bigger than the GX-70 for roughly the same price. I think the Dougram is a much much better figure than the new Maz Z. At $99 the figure would be perfect. At $130 it's a stretch. But oh so worth it to get a "Shadowhawk" that is this good. If I wasn't a rabid fan of the mecha from my tabletop days I don't know if I would have shelled out quite that much. (The Destroids are coming through at half that price.)

Cool. Its going to be interesting to compare this guy to half priced Destroids.

If you pre-order, or just keep an eye on price in general you would most likely be able to get it cheaper than $130.
I paid $112 for mine during the second pre order period (figure still had not been released yet but first round of pre-order sold out/reached order stop status), I don't think I ordered until December or January?
Had it shipped over in a larger order so shipping cost was only a few dollars more in theory.

In regards to the painted feet, even vintage dougrams (especially the blockhead) have thin paint on the feet. If you have pics of your hi-metal where it has thinned, I'd love to see them.
As faelon said, I think $130 is a bit high for these, especially if they do more than just the dougram and soltic, because the other mecha are a lot bigger. I think part of the cost with these is new tooling plus the cost of the dougram license.
I was happy with the size and heft - it could have been a little taller and a little heavier (and I wish it had a little more diecast) but having never bought a hi-metal before, I am very happy with the figure and glad it was taller than SRC and the hi-metal macross stuff.
I said this a few posts earlier, but I buy very few new toys, if any, but I will buy every one from the HIMR dougram line if they keep this up. I was absolutely thrilled with the paint apps/tampo apps.

Which is now wholly owned and controlled by Bandai Namco Holdings.
