Is it possible to apply a pre-agreed set of criteria to any Transformers toy in order to decide if it is worthy of being called great? Is it possible to apply a very aggressive agenda to such a question and twist the words of your contributors in such a way as to make a toy of your choosing qualify as great under those conditions? The answer to both of those questions, this week, is yes! Obviously this will not be an exhaustive analysis of what qualifies a Transformers toy to be heralded as great, but it does allow us to split the topic into a few categories where our contributors tell us what it is about specific aspects of a figure that makes a Transformer stand out to them. If it combines clean, transforms clean and both robot and transformed mode are really cool, that makes it great for me. My Transformers pick is the G1 Jetfire. Its just the pinicle of the G1 Transformers for me. Awesome jet mode, guardian mode, and robot mode, and solid make and cool transformation. Comes with cool accessories too. But of all the transforming robots I own, the Godaikin Daltanias is just hands down cool from robot to its 3 separate parts (robot, lion, shuttle). The SOC version of Daltanias is right up there too for me. Both have great transformations, are very well made, and come with plenty of extras for super play and display.
