Hey, this year was the first time I attended. What a blast! Sadly I attened no panels, as the main floor was too much of a draw. I chatted many times over the weekend to the guys from Super Seven magazine and shouted about my Henshin collection. Then one guy says, yeah, I have afew...like all the Walder variations (apart from blue) and an original devliman outfit. Yeeeeooowwww! Totally blown away. I also spoke to another guy who wrote their excellent article on the Denys Fisher `series. Everyone seen that...GREAT photos accompanying it by Tim Brisco I think. He mentioned that some collectors had been upset by the article as it put prices up and "outed" their secret. Interesting, wonder who that was?
On a less Henshin note, there were some great exclusives...got the microman, and also the Touma Fang Wolf qees, and met Gary Baseman, who signed one of seven test shot 12" dunce figures for me...woo hoo...he was a nice guy. Picked up four of six previews of the super seven neo-Kaiju series in stinky glo plasrtic. Also got the new orange James Jarvis King Ken and got a niced signed uglydoll vinyl....he's rad. Saw the new Unkle Pointman kubricks and figures at toytokyos stand....plus I gibbered on about Henshins to the guy running the Takara stand, then realized he hadn't understood a word I said.
Also got to see the hilarious Shawn of the Dead, which is getting a limted realesae in the US in September, followed by a fun Qand A session after. My pathetic contribution was to ask where Keith Chegwin appeared in the movie (ans: he didn't, his voice did).
Some interesting new kaiju influenced figures`are coming out soon, lots of great new designers out there. My credit card is looking worried!
Bye y'all!
