Love the SOC's design and look the most! Wondering if I need to sell the Max Factory version or not. I've been going back and forth and I think outs going to weigh a lot on what the Max Factory goes for. Seems relatively accessible so I feel like it'll be hard to sell for much. I have potential buyer for my Max Factory and I don't really care that much about the price since I bought it cheap. But I believe potential buyers for this version of Mazinkaiser are those who want the original SRW design of Mazinkaiser.

haha oh that.. my first comment was intended to be a joke. i was just being sarcastic. hence that LOL part. they can literally do all they want. its thier own product afterall. Thank you for the direct, concise clarification. Not even being sarcastic when I say that it's refreshing to see communication in that manner. Seriously. too serious discussions tends to be boring.. sometimes lead to tensions. remember what happened here not so long ago. i blame S-gokin lol.. he started the it .. about zandacross... eer.. but i think hes really serious about it.

I look at it as another representation of Mazinkaiser,,, a game version.. seperate from animation. and he actually came first.. and its the only toy version of the game.

Just pulled it out of the box and first impression is I'm kinda bummed there is not more metal here. It's heavy but metal seems to be just in the thighs, feet and chest. More later.

Image from chinese forum. It looks like the the connection point from the breast plate is kind of fragile.

This mazinkaiser looks great, but the lack of both metal and ratchets make me feel that it was originally intended to be an src ! But at last minute they decided: let's scale it up and turn it into an SOC !

Image from chinese forum. It looks like the the connection point from the breast plate is kind of fragile. I can believe it. You gotta be careful when you're handling it. Mainly when you are pulling the head off to swap the faces or trying to get the "stand plug" into the back. The natural place to grab is around the breastplate. I caught myself doing this a couple of times. Wouldn't take much pressure to snap these at all.

why Bandai didn't remove the breast fire plates in the first place, or even better make a magnetic system like the old GX-02
man hope mine arrive safe

So, I've had more time to get my hands on this thing. I really do like it. I've never had an Aoshima or Max Factory. So in terms of an anime accurate Kaiser, this is the one to beat. I'm a sucker for the DC line now and this fits in so well with the GX-70 and the 73. Like I said before, I do wish there was more metal in this. I was really hoping for some die-cast forearms like the other DC Mazs', but no dice here. It really bugs me that the crotch diaper is plastic. This is an area that is almost always metal. And since I'm usually holding a figure in this area, it sort of cheapens the feel for me. Another nitpicky thing is, I wish the sword handles that come from the shoulders were longer. They are just barely peeking through and it loses the effect to an extent. Overall, I like it a lot but it did not exceed my expectations. If I had to compare it the my Sentinel Kaiser, the only area the SOC wins out in would be anime accuracy. The SOC doesn't have much more die-cast than the Sentinel, so they are similar in heft. Sentinel obviously wins the articulation award. The range of motion for the SOC is very comparable to the SRC, but the joints feel really solid and tight unlike the floppy SRC. The scrander on the SOC feels really cheap and flimsy. I realize they gotta keep the weight down on it or he would fall backwards constantly. So they get a pass here. But it does look great attached onto the stand.

The more I look at this guy the more I get thrown off by the Riobots Weird torso and hips. I know its for their stylized articulation but damn it does look weird in a neutral pose.
EDIT: I may want to get one now lol

Congrats FIP! I say it looks great.
Yeah, Bandai should def have made the underwear metal. I mean whAt? How much is it more cost over a plastic undie? Come On now. Did it to ALL DCs. i mean do DCs have copyright on metal undie?

I didn't get mine yet, but I think the lack of metal is maybe for balance purpose. Adding more metal in the body, considering the size and width, may make Mazinkaiser unstable, especially if he rely on articulation to stand in certain position

Does this Mazinkaiser actually have the Rocket punch gimmick? If so, then that'd be why the forearms aren't diecast.

No. I'm pretty sure Bandai is all done with spring loaded gimmicks. Which personally I find kind of disappointing.
