In the grey mist of a distant planet, Micro Cyborg Force is searching for the enemy. He contemplates the stark magnificence of this barren place. “How beautiful the universe is. Why must it be polluted by evil beings who bring suffering and death?” Suddenly he hears a dry chuckle behind him. A group of Walders emerges from the mists, their slitted eyes glinting with malicious intent. “You are outnumbered, Micro Cyborg Force!” sneers the vile purple leader as he drools anticipatory spittle down his oversized fangs. Micro Cyborg Force reacts quickly. While the Walders are still gloating, he pounces on the nearest one and catches him with a swift uppercut to the solar plexus. The Walder’s visible innards squirm under the blow, and a repulsive smell emanates from his disgusting transparent yellow flesh. Wasting no time, Micro Cyborg Force leaps behind the next Walder and chops him mercilessly between the shoulder blades with a sickening crunch. Before the purple leader can run, Micro Cyborg Force in upon him with a fierce head lock. The Walder is helpless as our hero pounds his face repeatedly with a powerful left fist. “Once again,” Micro Cyborg Force exclaims triumphantly, “truth, justice and the Earthling way are victorious over the slimy alien menace.” However, the Walders recover quickly from their superficial injuries, overpower Micro Cyborg Force and give him a proper kicking.

Yes, the heads are from the gashapon "SF Land" set. These are not really customs, at least, not permanently so. A little sticky tape on the head poles of the Microforce figures and the SF Land heads fitted snugly. After shooting, everyone got their normal heads back and went back to their glass case. It was fun! Thanks for the enthusiastic comments. Coming soon..... King Walder's Visceral Interlude.

Do u have a micro sizes three headed muton pleasure-device, or venom injector as it is commonly referred too?

Unfortunately not. As I understand it, the micro sized Venom Injector came with the blue "chase" micro King Walder. I bought a set of twelve gashapon boxes in one big box, and got the regular assortment of figures. One in goodness knows how many big boxes has a chase figure, at the expense of one of the regulars, making it almost impossible to collect them all. I believe they did a chase micro Cyborg too, with a grey engine and arm weapons. The gashapon set cost me lots of postage as it is so heavy with all that cheap, soft plastic. I preordered it on strength of a couple of photos I had seen of the micro Cyborgs, and I was expecting fully jointed figures. There is a groove around the biceps to make them look like the bigger Cyborgs, but this is NOT a joint. These figures were disappointing when they arrived, but I have refused an offer to part with them as they look good in front of my 8" Cyborgs which in turn are in front of my 12" Cyborgs. And they are better than those shameful Myclone things. I'm looking forward to the proper miniature Cyborg that is apparently in the pipeline.

Nice work, Hypno. An admirable piece of 'folk-art' Were you influenced my 'La Jetee' per chance?
Hey isn't there supposed to be a micronauts home movie floating around? I thought I saw it on Ron Pringle's site years ago.

Hey Spymer! Welcome back!
I’ve never seen “La Jetee”, although I’ve read about it. Isn’t half the movie stills? Almost as good as the Throbbing Gristle film “After Cease To Exist”, where the screen goes black half the time (I haven’t seen this either). I understand Terry Gilliam stole the plot of “La Jetee”, I think it was for “Twelve Monkeys”, and I saw that, but it made so little impression that I can’t remember the plot. Something about time travel. I get it mixed up with another time-travelling French film “Je T’aime, Je T’aime”, which is next to “La Jetee” in my encyclopaedia of sci-fi films. So how does “La Jetee” resemble my little photostory?
Folk art? That gives me an idea. I was going to do a British Cyborg story and have them ponce around with cups of tea and portraits of the Queen in the background and say things like “Top hole” and “Rather”. But as I live in the wilds of Wiltshire, maybe I should do them chewing blades of grass and going “Ooh-arr!” Then again, maybe not.
I don’t know about a Micronauts home movie, but I followed a link on RJ once to some great home animations done with gundams. I think it was on the General board.

A fine classical drama!
WHere'd you buy those mini gashapon heads? I looked around the web but can't find anything. THey'd be great for Material Force customs.

Shucks, guys! I’m flattered, and I’d hardly consider it “classical”, but that gives me more ideas, like maybe some Shakespeare or Jane Austen adaptations, acted out by Cyborgs, of course. My next photostory, “Danse Macabre” is on the way. My good friend Arch Stanton gave me a lesson in Photoshop, and my photostories from now on will use a lot of photomontage, which takes longer, but the results will hopefully justify the wait. I must warn you, however, that I have recently had a post removed from RJ because of its controversial nature, and as I have no intention of toning down my stories, indeed they are likely to be increasingly risqué, so it may be appropriate for me to set up my own site for future stories. This would also free me to use obscene language. The only problem is, I’ve no idea how to go about setting up a site. But I’m sure someone out there can offer advice. Johnny, those gashapons are hard to find. Here is a nice review of them: microforever.com/scfact1.htmbut I preordered mine from M-world Service a couple of years ago, and the only place I’ve seen them recently is Yahoo Japan. I was waiting for them to release the transparent Material Force figures to do this story, as they would have been perfect, but Takara seem to have put them on hold, so I went ahead with what figures I had. Thanks - uncensored cyborg drama would be well worth it! For some fun photoshoppage chek out my "fun posters" post.
THose figures in the review look prety goofy - but they look great on microman bodies. I wonder why takara is holding off on the translucent microforce? Maybe they think people will stop buying the regular figures and just make their own? Maybe it takes away from the special mystique! Actually if you have a few materials, it's not too hard to make your own tranlucent micromans. You need some silicone, and casting agents. It just takes time and work.
How do you write gashapon in katakana? Would I just do a search for gashapon henshin cyborg?
Thanks!

Yes indeed; goofy is the word. I was disappointed when they arrived, but I just like them enough to not sell them (I’ve had offers). The photostory is their finest hour. Thinking about it, the new mini Cyborg looks remarkably similar to the gashapon ones; perhaps you can use the head in the same way. Please tell me more about silicone moulding and transparent casting agents! I have a single UK Android missile that I wish to duplicate. It sounds like a lot more work than a little vinyl heating and cutting, but I want to do this. If I succeed, I may even be able to sell them. How do I write gashapon in katakana? Blimey! Ask me an easier question. Just out of interest, I do know that the word gashapon is Japanese onomatopoeia. “Gasha” is the sound of the handle turning on the bubble gum machine, and “pon” is the sound of the pod falling.

I'll have to wait until I have som spare time to explain making figures and parts, but most of what I have to say is already on this website: www.microer.comAnd you're right about the walder costumes I just saw the ad where they mention blowdrying and cutting.

thanks for that link, Johnny. It's most informative. Did you find it via the Rocket Tubes? I'm in the UK so I'll try to find a British distributor for clear casting agents. I reckon I can get by using latex for the moulds. All that stuff with the dowel and glue gun is great, though. I've got all the stuff but hadn't thought of it. I've done a tiny bit of model part casting, though, so I'm fairly confident I can do this when I get the time. watch this space for bootleg UK Android missiles. Hypno

YOu can use silicon for the molds instead of the expensive stuff, but you have to dilute it, though I forget with what. My friend knows all this stuff, he does monster makeup for films. You need the 2 part resin though, it's called Smooth On Smooth Cast 325 - this one is clear so you can add a little pantone ink to make it coloured - translucent or opaque. Pretty cool. I'll get back into doing this stuff in a couple of months when i have some free time and I'll post.

I'm interested to know what kind of stuff you are casting. My other passion, along with Cyborg/Microman, is Aurora and similar model kits, and the tiny bit of casting I have done was a pterosaur head from the Jungle Swamp. Check my collection pics on the collection page; I put some shots of my models in even though they aren't robots or Japanese. By the way, I was looking at your lovely toy/band posters again; are any of them yourself?

Hello, thought I'd just say that I'm also interested in making custom Micromen - so I'd like to hear what UK stuff you find that'll work for casting Micromen, Hypno! Unfortunately my only experience in this has involved looking around on the internet. I like MicroER's glass-painted figures, too - I seem to remember seeing a page of them presented as an alternative group of time-travellers, but can't find the page now. Jason

I once saw a web page about customizing Neo Henshin Cyborgs by painting them with Tamiya clear paint. The guy had done a smoked grey one. He took it apart and painted all the inside surfaces, apart from the parts which don't come apart, like the forearms, which he painted on the outside. It might be a while before I get onto this, Jason, and when I do I won't be casting Micromen, just Android missiles and model parts. At the moment I am halfway through building a Polar Lights Rodan and I'm also working on the next photostory, "Danse macabre".
