Very cool! I like the reflection effect! Was that part of the original photo or was added later?

Very cool! I like the reflection effect! Was that part of the original photo or was added later? Hi, Guys. Sorry it took me a few days to respond. I'm normally on here daily, but I've been very busy. To create this pic, I used my Android phone, and photo editing software found on Google Play. Most of the software is free. If you like an app, sometimes there is an option to upgrade. I only upgrade if it offers the ability to save pictures with higher resolution. The most it will cost is $3 or $4. Here's the original photo. I took it under direct, bright overhead light with a white background. To create an original piece, I started with an app called ToolWiz. It's free and it's excellent. If you find yourself using it often, you can remove the adds for $1.99. To give the Daku a wet look, I applied an effect called "Deep Render". There are many options. So, experiment and find a look you like. Next, I added ToolWiz's "Water Reflection" effect. This is very simple. For the sky, I used an app named PhotoDirector. It has a great "Blender" feature, where you can blend two photos together. This is a little more involved. But, with this function you can place your robots literally in any scene you can find on the web. I get backgrounds from various wallpaper apps. If you like this feature, this is the one app I do recommend upgrading from the free version: because, for $2.99 you can save and share with the highest quality level. For detailed instructions, check out my post on the Daltanious thread: robotjapan.proboards.com/thread/17130/gx-59-daltanius?page=51 Finally, I wanted the water to shimmer. To do this, I went back to ToolWiz, selected "Decorate" and added a "Flare" that looked cool. I manipulated and erased part of the effect. And, Voila... an original take on a classic diecast piece! Here's an Evolution Toy Gaiking I just finished: Photo editing is something anyone can do with a little practice. I like it, because it allows me to express my creativity. My wife likes it, because instead of spending $300+ monthly on Gokins I'm enjoying the figures I already have. It took me a weekend to figure out my first app. In a few days I had some really cool pics. Once you learn on one, the others are simple. The technology increases rapidly, and new free apps are available almost weekly. Different apps have certain strengths, so I try them all. With time, your ability will increase and you'll come up with a style of your own. My original pics get thousands of views on Google+. (Nobody even uses G+ - I figured it would be a good place to start before moving on to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Once I have a larger body of work I'll get involved with the more popular services). Maybe this is more information than you guys are looking for, but I like to help my friends on RJ in any way I can. If anybody viewing this has any questions, or would like to get started in photo editing... please, don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks Coletron for sharing your techniques, I've done photography and worked with photoshop in the past but it seems like so much of the professional high-powered filters and effects are now in inexpensive phone apps! Really amazing!
