Hello everyone! I have eight Metal Build Gundams and thinking of taking them out of my Ikea Detolf to spread their wings (Destiny Gundam + wing of light set & etc) and pose them with their bases. Can dust damage these figures in anyway?

While I don't think dust will do much, if any, damage I would definitely try to keep them out of the sunlight.
If anything, dust becomes a pain when it accumulates extensively and gets into all the crevices and corners. Therefore it can be difficult to get it completely off certain areas but I've used canned air (much like those used on keyboards) to alleviate this issue. A Q-tip with a bit of water works as well (depending on the item).

How often do you clean your figures?

If you're not willing to dust the figures everyday with a soft brush, it will be a problem to keep them out, regardless of sunlight (that's a completely separate issue).
Dust likes to stick in crevices and build up and if there is any pvc or rubber, dust also likes to build up on that and get "sticky".
My advice is ditch the detolfs and get a small but wide countertop style display (a display case that is able to fit on top of an existing table or dresser etc.) as it is at viewing level, not too high or low, and allows for more wide area viewing than the vertical detolfs.
This is what I currently have for my 4-6" gokin and large spaceships (example: popy robocon, shogun failing, feature gatchaspartan, etc.) and will be getting another for my DX gokin bots, but I will just remove all the shelves. My current case is 24 inches wide by 18 inches tall by 12 inches deep.

Started looking around and found these: HOBBY BASE Model Cover BaseYeah they're large and I think it'll fit two MB's with their bases. Destiny gundam with the optional light wings may need one of its own.

I have one like this: m.ebay.com/itm/262930689814?_mwBanner=1This is a similar style: m.ebay.com/itm/262930615478?_mwBanner=1 It really depends on the height of the figures. These two are countertop cases. Prices vary wildly as many vendors both on the internet, eBay and locally sell them. I haven't found the exact company that actually makes them yet. Still trying. I bought the champagne/pewter style color locally. I have seen them from $80-180 new, I paid $40 for mine from a local embroidery store that bought it new and didn't use it. There is a non-plated brushed aluminum that is common but I think it looks horrible so I am glad I got this one. Just match the edge design of this case to other pictures or retailers and you will see the other sizes they make.

Those look good, and I found a local store who sells them. I'll have to check 'em out in person first.

Hopefully they'll have the better edge color like in the link I posted.
