Hmm.... a review score system, I'll have to think about it. I'm not really a big fan of assigning numerical values. Lol... I tend to be a "Russian Judge" when it comes to scoring things (intentionally give a low score, spurs room for improvement) but I'll consider it, thanks, man. Gold Gold, I wouldn't change the current review format. I think it is excellent, highlighting the pros and cons and then followed by a recommend or not. I don't care much for the point system. It is better suited for video games not super robots.

Thanks Thegame23. I'm still on the fence for now with regards to the Dark Voltron since the colored is coming, along with Dx Combattler, the Evolution toys Mechanda, Metal Build Mazinger, the Big O reissue. Pretty crazy start for 2018 My SRC Great Mazinkaiser short review should be up next week, I've still got the Damaged 70 Mazinger sitting on a shelf staring at me too. Thank you Bocasas. The biggest tip I can give for this figure is pay attention to the hip section of Dancouga when you transform Big Moth from tank to robot mode. Usually folks tend to forget returning the hips to the proper position (that L-slot manuver in the hips can be tricky). This will make the toy's center of gravity off if not slotted back into position and the toy will be prone to tipping over backwards, especially when you slap on the Booster. It happened to me too back in the early days of the original Gx-13 release. The clips I posted are mostly the highlights of the action from the show. Hopefully Youtube will allow them to play in your area, when I uploaded them, some had region restrictions due to copyrights. Photobucket no longer provides video hosting of new uploads sad to say, that was my usual go to for hosting clips. Thank you TTurbozx66, I appreciate the feedback. Gold

Thanks S-Gokin, haha yeah, I gathered from your previous posts that you aren't a big fan of this release, but thank you for the kind words Hmm.... a review score system, I'll have to think about it. I tend to be a "Russian Judge" when it comes to scoring things (intentionally give a low score, spurs room for improvement) but I'll consider it, thanks, man. you are welcome and yes your are right the thing is unlike what other people imagine the scoring system is used in every thing, because you know some times the "i highly recommend it" is not enough specially if you are a numbers person like me so lets say if you give a figure a 12 out 10 i will know that its a must lol good luck in your upcoming reviews

Great review. I still like the original more, and having a new static head instead of a reworked Eagle Fighter is pretty disappointing. One of the few incidence when I feel that the original is better than an 'improved' version.

Thinking of selling off my SoC Renewal Dancouga sometime in the future to help pay for some other things I may want in the near future.
I might want to get the SoC Ideon or the Complete Selection Kabuto Zector with said money.

Hurrah! I finally have all three GX13s!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!! I have made a decision.... GX13 Dancouga is now my all time favorite SOC. Followed by GX-34 Gunbuster. It's funny because I grew up in the Philippines. I should love the Voltes V and Mazinger Z SOCs more. Don't get me wrong, I like those robots and I am glad to have them (I am super psyched that I have all three SOC Voltes Vs). I guess I just have way too much expectations from my childhood giant robot heroes. I don't know anything about Dancouga, I just love the design of the toy. It's crazy because I know lots of you have no love for this SOC.

Glad you like it. It really is one of my favorite SOCs. I think people were kinder to it ten years ago and much harsher on it now because it isn’t new.

Lol actually I think S Gokin is the only one that dislikes it strongly. Everyone else would love to have one in their collection.

eriku and locidm.... That's good to know that there is more love for the GX-13 than I thought I still can't believe that I finally have the GX-13R, 2004 version. I have been wanting this robot since it came out 14 years ago. I never thought that I would ever acquire one. It was expensive when it first came out and the price just kept skyrocketing over the years. I guess the release of the 2017 version pushed some folks to sell their 2004 version at a lower price. I got mine for $265 with shipping. I wonder how many folks have all three? And I am curious to know which one is their favorite. I can't stop staring at my three GX-13 boxes. Wow! I have the trio!!!

Recently got this figure. Pretty amazing. The roughest part for me was Big Moth's trunk guns. I ended up taking them off and putting them back in the box because I could not get the tusks to clear them when moving to robot form. Still, amazing figure.

Me neither, but I discovered that they simply weren't pushed all the way in.

One of the few incidence when I feel that the original is better than an 'improved' version. Yeah. I second the new Eagle Fighter mainly cause that is the only part of the SoC that is better than the Sentinel. I literally use the static head for combined display whilst Eagle Fighter is chilling.

So guys, would you say it's better to find an R version of this SOC or stick with the original release, especially if it's cheaper? I've found an original 13 for a pretty great price, but i'm still a bit leery if I should just go for the R.

for me both are stupid
but if you MUST get a GX13, get the R version because it have an extra head and its kinda newish than the 17 years old GX13 not to mention you can find it cheap
good luck
