Trailer was screened a few days ago at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France on Wednesday.
Gekijōban Mazinger Z (Mazinger Z The Movie) continues Koji's story 10 years after his battle with Dr. Hell
Official plot synopses:
"It has been 10 years since then. Humanity awaits a new fate.
Once humanity was on the verge of destruction at the hands of the evil scientist Dr. Hell and his underground empire. Kōji Kabuto, his Mazinger Z super robot, and his friends at the photon power laboratory put an end to Dr. Hell's evil ambitions, and returned peace to the world.
It has been 10 years since then. Kōji has followed his father and grandfather and now walks the path of a scientist. He encounters a mysterious life form buried in a giant structure buried deep below Mt. Fuji. A new encounter, a new threat, and a new fate await humanity. And Kōji, who was once a hero, makes a decision for the future.
It can be a god or a demon.
Once again the future is entrusted to Mazinger Z. "

This looks amazing. Really loving this resurgence of the super robot and kaiju genre. So much to look forward to this year.

Looks very promising indeed. Love the much higher detail take on Maz, while keeping the general look the same (not a fan of the giant ball shoulders however). But sadly, this probably means another SOC figure we all have to hunt down once again. I mean, how many Mazingers do we need to buy before we can call it a day?  |

Excited...that's Great...I was hoping to see CGI type movie with real people. Least it's something anything than current Transformers movies, can't watch those anymore.

I'm so excited and happy to be alive at a time when this genre is taking off. I'm looking forward to seeing and owning this. Funimation bring it to US theaters!!

Mazinger looks really really good...almost as if Sentinel designer designed him.
he looks much more cohesive then the redesigned Voltron or Optimus. Even Garada looks fantastic.
I def see a large SOC built, may be a 8 to 9 incher to fit all the details in?

Proportion wise, he looks almost like the SRC Mazinger. The reinforced panels are a nice touch, and the thought of Sentinel getting their hooks into this gives me chills.

hey gang, there is a new trailer that came out recently that was show only in a con. it shows a bit more www.facebook.com/museo.mazinger/videos/707393716133172/accordingly from the interviews the story of this mazinger z its not gonna take the events of great mazinger and grendizer. this is a new story journey for koji and mazinger z. |

In any case, I'm excited for this movie. I love the modern panel-lined look they've done to Maz here without straying from his original robotic form. In my opinion, THIS movie should have been placed in the slot that was occupied by then Shin Mazinger series. But I guess even NOW is better late than ever, for this movie. And, oh yeah, we'll certainly see an action figure rendition of this.  ----------- I've been away tooooooo long, and I've missed out on so many things in this hobby. I'm still around, but not as active as I should be... ...I'd better get back into the program! |

I've been busy working my new job since April this year, and now cutting my summer vacation short to go back to work full-time starting Monday. Not really doing anything spectacular, just chilling out. lol Also dealing with Life in general, and hanging out at Facebook now-n-then. I just haven't been active in this hobby for a long time, hopefully the bug will bite me back up to speed again. I've been staying up to date getting hobby news through Facebook. Even now, this new Mazinger movie is a hot topic among fans and collectors over there in Facebook. A while ago I was posting a heads-up in Facebook about Photobucket's new restriction... it seems that now the 'bucket no longer allows img tagging into web forums. That really sucks! Y'all know how much we rely on image hosting sites to help us display our hauls by tagging them "img" here into the forums. But now Photobucket has put a damper on that. Anyway... while I was discussing Photobucket on FB, longtime veteran member Garret (who also hasn't been here in a long time) and a couple other RJers joined me in that conversation, and he asked about Omniexistence. So, I came by to point him to Omni's thread. |

Thanks for the info. Though that video looks like those click bait videos with nothing but some random screenshots most people following this already seen. For a moment I thought it was a longer official trailer. Heh. |
