This is only the option part. You will have to get the Metal Robot Spirit 00+raiser first. This is about $180 for a 144 scale. Think again...

Well since i already have the Metal Robot OO raiser, ill be picking this up too.
These are just the option parts , mobile suit sold separately.

Kinda hard to justify 100+ for a robot damashii especially with its minimal amount of die cast added. Signature Ka + Diecast for that range maybe.

It look very plain because it's going for that A,N.I.M.E style look. Since their Robot damashii 0079 A.N.I.M.E style is doing great, they probably thought it'll be an great idea to try it for the Metal robot line too. tamashii.jp/special/metal_robot/00r/ |

Yeah but I think the A.N.I.M.E style look works for UC 0079 suits since the designs were more stylized to begin with...also a bit of the nostalgia factor. I personally don't find it works for the 00 series. They just look...plain to me, the armor has a lot more planar and angular cuts that benefit from a more realistic style of detailing, whereas the 0079 suits have larger but subtly curved surfaces that fit well with the A.N.I.M.E style.

To be fair, that articulation looks nuts. I have never seen torso articulation like that on a Gundam figure.
My only gripe with Metal Builds is I'd love a bit more articulation. I replaced all of my MG Astrays with Metal Builds and miss how much more mobility the MG from 2009 has compared to the Metal Build from 2015. I know to some degree it's apples and oranges, but they figured out a lot of the engineering tricks on the MG (the way the skirts operate) then went backwards in some ways.

Guess it's preference at this point. I am spoiled by Metal Build. I am like leeboo. I don't think I can stand for plain simple anime style for anything other than 0079. However, looking more again, even though I am not interested, I do think it is worth the price now since you get both XN and 7sword packages. For $80, you get two more additional variations (or 3 by putting both on together) and XN definitely adds a lot more play-ability. A must buy for people who already owns the figure!

yeah, that anime look isn't working for me either, especially when you compare it to the metal build and also the KO MB that you can pretty much get it for the same price.
But I really like those option part set. This will be the first XN Raiser figure ( the other is a model kit) . just waiting on a good yen to dollar day to preorder
Also I like to show Bandai that there's lots of interest in the XN Raiser so that they will eventually do an Metal Build Ver.

so, amazon was selling the MRS 00R for like $86 with free shipping (lowest price I have ever seem) and I had like $50 giftcard, so I just picked it up. I didn't have much expectation to it, but the figure turns out to be very decent and it's small enough to easily change pose and toy around without feeling i will break it. It also did not have the premium feel as those MB, so i don't feel bad to play with it too much. So i actually enjoy it a lot despite the plain and anime look. I am thinking to buy some RG 00R decal and just add the marking myself later on. I have to preorder the XN7S set now... lol
