What do you guys think of the Metal Robot Spirits line? Thinking of expanding my collection to this line. Is it worth it? How many Metal Robot Spirits are there?

This is what we have so far: gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Robot_Damashii#Metal Robot Damashii I think the EX-S and OO Gundam + all the accessories are worth it and probably are two of the best so far. They are about $150 and in 1/144 scale. You can search this forum. There are reviews and thoughts about the line. Have fun collecting

I have bought a few. Here is a list of must get in my opinion (in the order of release date): 1. Metal robot EX-S - Huge fan of EX-S so I bought 2 2. Metal robot MK-V marking plus ver. - This one has fully body paint, which is very rare in metal robot line. Articulation is great and the paint is topnotch. 3. Metal robot FAZZ - Fully body paint as well. Good articulation (not great due to the huge add-on armor parts), great paint job, and it looks so bad-ass in full armor mode. You can skip the rest (in my opinion). The metal robot oo gumdam has major paint job issue on its face, and it looks like a robot damashii figure with limited details. Looking forward for the metal robot knight and metal robot ex-s alpha.

Looking forward for the metal robot knight and metal robot ex-s alpha. Agree with all of the above conclusions, I have the same ones as zrli5027 (FAZZ is on its way, so can't speak to that yet). Either version of the EX-S is a must-have, just the best version of the EX-S I've seen, great proportions and painting detail. I also have the Full Armor Gundam Mk-II, which is decent in surface detail and markings but just very fiddly due to all the armor parts that have to go on. But I think generally you'll find that any of the more recent Ka Signature series have very good paint and decal apps. I'm personally not a fan of the Hi-Nu or 00 Gundam releases, they lack the surface detail to justify the price. The Knight Gundam I've seen on display in person, and it is very good; I just don't like the design personally, but otherwise if you're a fan I think it's a great piece.

How come no. 2 and 3 does not have "metal" on the box? is there any die cast parts in them? According to Gundam wiki, no 2 and 3 are not part of the Metal Robot Spirits line. Is this correct? The Metal Robot line is:
1. Hi nu 2. 00 riser 3. Ex S 4. Knight %. Strike Freedom

Yes that is correct, however I think the discussion gets crossed over since the better ones in the "metal" line are the Ka Signature ones...which has a bunch of very good non-metal ones as well. But if you are strictly looking for die cast joints then the list in the wiki is correct.
Again, my personal opinion is that the non-Ka Signature MRS line (Hi-Nu, 00) are overpriced for minimal die cast content and not much paint or surface detail. I've seen them all in person and was fairly underwhelmed. At that price point you may as well move up to some of the cheaper metal builds at 1/100 scale. Your mileage and preferences may vary though.

Copy that. Very true on the price point, 95usd for the 00 and 175usd for the Ex-S is the cheapest I've seen where I live. I'm already collecting Metal Builds and Metal Comps so the Metal Robot line will be the 3rd line in my Gundam collection if its worth jumping into.

Yeah I got a bunch from those lines as well, and I’ll say the EX-S is worth the price. Metal composite line I’d say the Psycho MK.II blew me away, and the granddaddy Gundam Origin is good value if you can find it cheap. I have three MC unicorn variants, of which I think the Banshee Norn is the best, but they’re all kinda fiddly and meh. MB Amatsu Mina was great value for all the accessories you get if you got it at the release price when it was low. Otherwise all the MBs are on the pricey side nowadays...sigh...and I’ll still keep buying them.

is it cheaper to do nippon usually or to use a forwarded? Nippon isnt cheap imo but their delivery service is lightning fast, based on my past deals with them.

is it cheaper to do nippon usually or to use a forwarded? Works out almost about the same TBH. I don't accumulating points with NY and so, I usually take that option. Shipping to Canada sucks gonads. Grr.

is it cheaper to do nippon usually or to use a forwarded? depends if you are just going to get 1 piece or you plan to buy more or even combine with other items. If you are just going to get 1 then N-Y normally is the way to go for slower shipments like Sal small packet.

Apparently a NEW VERSION of the Hi-Nu is coming out since the old one is so fugly... METAL ROBOT魂 Hi-New Gundam New Version. Definitely looks nicer, but I want to see more what the changes are compare to the first release

Definitely looks nicer, but I want to see more what the changes are compare to the first release From the look of it (comparing pics), it looks like the head and chest are re-sculpted. The rest remained the same, with possibly slight color change.
