So , I finally acquired a pristine yellow belly from Yahoo Japan, no nose chip and clean as can be. But during shipping it must have gotten knocked around and there is now the slightest chip on the nose. To make matters worse, I chipped the tooth on the leg when I took it out of the styro!! I'd heard the yellow paint is thin on these but WOW! I'm not having a good day here. Is there any touch up I can do with this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You can wait for more replies, but I would just leave it until it gets worse. It's almost not noticeable. If it was worse I would say repair it.
If you really must fix it, and can match the exact yellow, or mix it close, I'd use a micro brush, almost dry of paint, to just cover the speck in the middle.
You don't want to build up the paint at all, just try to cover the black mark.

Thanks, I didn't realize the box was missing it's cover for the styro insert. It must have been rubbing the cardboard the whole way. I should have requested the seller wrap it separately. Oh well, live and learn.

Anyone have any insight into matching this color yellow? Thanks!

Man, I feel for you! I have been after this particular version for years and years and years. Trying to find a nice clean version that won't break the bank. To finally get one and have it arrived damaged...
Something somewhat similar happened to me recently. I finally picked up another grail of mine. Listed in an auction as pristine. When it arrived, it was so far from pristine that I nearly cried. I just threw the whole box in my closet and have not touched it since. It made me lose my passion for the hobby for a good period of time.
I would say just leave yours as is. Sorry to hear of the issues.

It's still one of the nicest I've seen & I envy your Gaiking collection.

Thanks all, I think I’m going to end up leaving it alone. At least it has a story to go along with it! I’ll be MUCH more cautious with vintage auction items from now on.

Great display case and Gaiking Collection! He's always been one of my favorites since my 70's childhood! Its a pity that your's got damaged during the shipping. Don't know what company you used but you should try an insurance claim if you bought it with the shipping or 3rd party bidding.
