It’s about the same price as the Arcadia 1J with supers (non-premium finish). With Bandai being a bigger company and likely larger production run them being more bang for the buck is expected. Until the VF-31 I wasn’t convinced that Bandai DX quality is up to par with Arcadia. I was very impressed with the 31s. If this new 1J is about the same level, I would be happy. Didn’t know you’re a Macross fan. There aren’t too many on RJ, at least not many who posts stuff. MW is great but I like RJ more. Post pictures if you can. I’m still hoping for Arcadia to release the VT-1 and then I’m done with my DYRL collection. Yeah, big-time Macross fan here but albeit, not a member of MW and etc. Those who know me well know that I'm not apt to post images because I'm generally lazy and two, almost 98% of my collection is still in boxes/storage. I've just recently started to roll out what I've hoarded over the last several years now that I have the shelving/cabinets put into my new home. Anyways, my partial Macross pile from a relatively recent inventory check before I moved is here: Hope you have display space in your new home! I’m running out of both display and storage spaces. So probably half of my Macross collection is in storage and I’m hesitant to buy more, not that it stopped me from getting the Delta DX and the YF-19. I see you started from way back with the chunky monkeys? Good for you! I wish I got more chunky monkeys few years ago when prices hit the bottom. Nice collection and hope to see more!

Ah, hahaha...so, you know my "plight" about display space. For the longest time, I did not have any of my collection displayed because well, I did not have the cabinets/shelving. But, now that I have it in place in my new home, I'm going to start rolling parts of the hoard out. What will I do with what I do not have room to display? Not sure, I may have to start selling some of it off...we'll see. I started collecting back in 1997/1998 with an SoC and it was just crazy after that and Macross was always something I wanted because of memories of my Takatoku Hikaru Ichijo from childhood.

Most of us started out that path the same way 😎 (Takatoku GBP-1S armor for me). Though my Macross collection only half as big as yours, much more active collecting them during Bandai 1/55 reissues and Yamato 1/48 days, and the non VF-1 1/60s. Got some Frontier stuff too and recently a handful of non-valk Hi-Metal R. Though this DX Ichijo 1J would be a VF-1 I haven't got for a very long time since the 1/48.

1/48? So more or less its going to be the same size as the old 1/48 Yamato valks? See picture below of someone (Gywn Campbell I believe) holding a Yamato 1/48 next to the Tamashii display. Hard to say if they're the same size still. If anything, it'll be the same size as all other Bandai DX valkyries. the improvements are outstanding the details and the edge are crispier than ever......sold for this!!!

It could be because the Yamato is yellowing, since the heat shield and hands are still more 'gwai lo'...
Weird, I am Chinese, but don't use that term that way. Heh.

From the quick translation and the super close up shot, It most likely a Hi Metal R VF-4 Lightning Hikaru version notice the reddish line on the bottom. from google translate: Impressive skull mark! Recently, I just released a product of Robo with such a skull design on my forehead, but this is a bit different. Since this image is a close up closeup, please wait for the publicity of the upcoming information on the whole picture. The hints willcome from that brand that "R" will follow .... " ! R" that line will be followed By "19" and "1" . blog.livedoor.jp/nation2018/archives/12684400.htmlAttachments:

Wow, ¥7000 more than pre-order. Harsh, but what can you do.

Wow, ¥7000 more than pre-order. Harsh, but what can you do. Well, you can either just wait a week or so before official release-date to get it at least at MSRP from other japan-shops. Or, wait for the preorder-pages for the non-LE variant. As far as we know, the difference between the LE and the non-LE is only the "special stand".
