Honestly I'm a bit disappointed by the parts swap. Very little attempt at engineering a transformation.

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed by the parts swap. Very little attempt at engineering a transformation. I’m not surprised by the part swapping. It is a model kit afterall. Personally, I just want parts separation with the different colors or the parts be prepainted. The fewer the sticker the better. Model kit technology now should be at the level of no painting necessary, painting should and shall always be optional.

I got one from N-Y and combined it with my HMR Super Ostrich PO. I have the SOC Godmars but I can't leave that on my desk where the cat likes to wander, so a smaller model kit is perfect.

So good. That leg articulation is going to make him more fun to pose than any other Godmars.

Did anyone else end up getting this? I've had the kit for a few weeks but didn't get a chance to dig in and start assembling until yesterday. Its pretty much on par with the average Super Mini Pla kit. Plastic is good and instructions are very easy to follow. Parts swapping for the big bot is easy and effective. Very nice kit.

the Mazinkaisers should have been about as tall as the Godmars. I'm almost kinda glad I got scammed and couldn't build the Kaiser that I bought.
...almost...

I started on this set yesterday. Got through 4 out of 6 bots. Man these guys are tiny. They are roughly the size of them small GI Joe figure or them small Star Wars figures. Especially Gaia, the parts are so small, I just can’t imagine how anyone with big hands can put it together. Specially the head and glueing the face together. It’s like performing micro surgery. I was gonna say how good the stickers are on this set, until the last strip for Shin. The sticky part from the bottom some how tore off from the top while I was removing it. Advice, for the long stickers, remove the sticker strips slowly.
While working on this kit, it just seems that the set is not as innovative or logical as Bandai kits or even the Bandai Mini Pla line. There just seems like a lot of unnecessary filler parts that could of been molded into a single piece. I’m talking about the filler square parts for the thighs of some of these bots. It’s not like they molded that square piece a different color, that would of made some sense, but as is, unless it was done so that it was meant to be painted a different color, I see no reason to create a separate piece as it could of been molded into the bigger thigh piece to begin with.
Also, with so much parts forming needed, they might as well give you a separate body torso and side leg cover for each bot to build an arm/leg for combine mode. Instead, they require you to rip the arms off each bot, rip the heads off and rip the legs off. You reuse the torso, use the side covers of the legs and plug it into the forearm piece. The procedure is the same for he legs. Mind you that each individual robot has next to almost no articulation. For the arms and legs bots, there are no bend at the elbows or knee. The leg bots, at least they have some feet movement. Gaia, is the most articulate one and it’s not even used of needed in combine mode.
Anyway, gonna try to get through building it tonight, still have Ra and Spinx to build.

Okay, I’m done with this set. And this is how it looks Again, aside from Gaia having elbows and knee articulations, the other five are just bricks with next to no articulation. They have shoulder and hip movements because of the ball socket connection. Sin and Ra have a bit of ankle articulations because it also has ball and socket type connection. For the 4 limb bots, they all have the same waist articulation, because it’s just a T shape peg plugs into the waist with ball socket that connects to the legs as hips. Sphinx has knee articulation but no elbow articulation and no head articulation. The upper waist has some play because it’s also a ball joint type connection. So to gattai and become GodMars, we need these parts forming parts. Oh the horror, You pretty much have to rip apart each robot. And then, all these parts go into a separate bag to be stored away cause they aren’t used in combined mode. Like I was saying in my prior post, since there’s no transformation and that you needs so many parts forming parts, they might as well include fake torso parts so we get to build both the robot and the limb. As for the the combined GodMars, like the 6 robots, it’s pretty much a brick. Yes, it has ankle tilt so it can stand flat footed. And there are knee joints, but if you noticed in them promo pictures, you see that they use some kind of clear stand and the joints aren’t ratchet and doesn’t hold at all. And I said knee joints because the top part of the knee, you have Sphinx’s knee, which has very minimal movement and then there’s the true knee joint that built into Sin and Ra’s torso. These are the joints that are somewhat useless as they really don’t hold in place. There’s swivel at the hip and top of the knee because the connection for lower leg to knee is just a peg. Now the arms, the shoulders are strong enough to hold in place. But I wish the side body part would lock into Sphinx’s torso. Pretty much the same problem with the Voltron minipla in that when moving the arms, the side part of the torso, since not being locked to the body would move along with the arm. But then, there are more problem with these arms. You get a pull down joint for more elbow movement. It’s kind of a slider type joint. But because of this design, the elbow doesn’t stay in place and just flops. The figure can’t even pose with a 90 bend elbow. It’ll flop or droop downwards. And because of the design of the arm robots waist area, the arms can’t really bend much past 90 degrees. And finally, them fist. The sword fits into it but there is no locking mechanism, it’s held on super loosely. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this kit set, at least not for this price Unless you really like GodMars. It’s a good looking set for looking at. It’s not really functional and I wouldn’t consider it good value. Small parts are frustrating to assemble and honestly you can save a lot of time if you only assemble the parts for GodMars only. For the 4 limb bots, you can skip building the head, arms and legs. It wasn’t like they were fun to build anyways. And in case you want to know what it looks like next to Super Minipla Voltron

Thanks for the review. The colored plastic looks pretty good. Too bad for the parts forming and lack of articulation. Looks good though!
