Hi, a few pieces in my collection have styrofoam film that is stuck to the paint or rubber. Does anyone have any advice on a good way to remove it without damaging the paint/piece? Is there a mild solvent that anyone has tried with success? THANKS!

The film should just peel off the rubber - but before you do that, I'm curious as to which rubber parts on which pieces? Also, what painted areas? Styro reacting with paint isn't too common.

Hi, yes, the "melted" styrofoam peeled off the rubber tail of my Bullmark bullpet without any damage -- I was happy about that! The styrofoam on paint might be a different reaction but in 2 cases its from long storage/tight fit on the legs of DX God Sigma and a DX Big Dai X... left white marks not really melted styrofoam. Its probably best to attempt a physical removal of it than a using a solvent... but I was thinking maybe rubbing alcohol might be weak enough to not damage the paint. Have you ever cleaned any popy painted items with it?

As Mike said, I have experienced this quite a bit and always managed to remove it physically. I would avoid chemicals if possible. Never tried any, but never had to.

Funny you mention God Sigma. I cannot remove either of the Ocean King or Earth King from the styrofoam because the are so locked in. You think I should attempt to get them out to check for any discoloration? Hi, hard for me to decide that but it sounds like you have similar issue... mine were sitting in the box for a long time and its a very tight fit... probably some of the styrofoam will be stuck to them. Let me know if you decide to take them out...

I would not use solvents. Rubbing alcohol can dull paint a little but usually it's in certain circumstances. Try on a junker, but hold off on using it on yours for now.
You both have stuck godsigmas? I have two popy versions in box and mine are not stuck. God sigma has pretty generous space around the foam. I have also not had a godsigma discolor.

Finally decided to remove my Godsigma to see if there was any damage. There was a bit of styrofoam stuck to the legs but it cleaned off very easily. So cleaned him off and back in his coffin he went! Other than the styrofoam being stuck there was no other damage which I was glad about! Funny you mention God Sigma. Thanks Dooquie, how did you clean of the styrofoam? Just rubbing it or with something else?

First tried just rubbing and was working but slowly. Used a little pledge and soft microfiber cloth and came off immediately. I learned a while back about using pledge and it works well on everything. Including the box! You do not want to saturate the cloth though. A little goes a long way.
