So you want tiny Grendizer and even tinier Mazinkaiser. haha official mecha specs are flawed. Animation studios doesent even follow that nonsense coz they will look awful altogether on screen  I truly believe they apply only in manga ( if any). Mazinger would be a midget in comparison of others if that infamous scale will apply. In any case this Grendizer reminds of mp-10 has a bit of gorilla arms with him and like others I can’t pull the trigger. I will rather wait until Bandai comes with the inevitable MB Grendizer. (Here is hoping) since the HG kit looks pretty good. Will wait and see... this one is available in stores online so I think it will be for a while.... |

I agree with TJ here. I've had this in and out of my cart several times over the past week and just can't pull the trigger. I do think it looks great combined with the Spazer and love the creativity that went into the armor mode. It's just the proportions and something about the panel lines on the thighs that bug me. Yep. There's a lot of good in terms of unique additions they were going for with the Spazer but the core bot is blatantly a shortcoming in terms of size and aesthetic. It's unfortunate but I'm invested so I'll own it and love it like one of my own, lol. |

I might be out in left field, I usually am, but I prefer the Grendizer proportions over Mazinkaiser and I totally dislike the Spacer armor. Mazinkaiser has the weird elongated torso and super high-set shoulders. I’ll take the stocky build over that any day.

For everyone complaining about size, yeah guys it's annoying but not really a big deal. Size was never relevant with super robots. There's a grendizer episode in wich boss borot is about as tall as dizer, despite the 15 meter diference. Or this robots being roughly the same size as the getters in the crossover movies, despite the getters being much larger.

These characters have canon sizes and stay fairly consistent; animation blips aside. This is a pretty significant stray from even relatively going for them.
Personally I don't want things to be in exact scale to each other considering the size of the toys in general but Grendizer being taller than Mazinkaiser even if it's by a quarter inch should be a given.
Now having this in hand, I can loosely understand where they were coming from because the larger that they made this piece the larger the Spazer would've had to have been and the overall cost increase would become pretty dramatic but at something towards $400 as-is they should have just done it even if it meant splitting the Grendizer and Spazer as a retail and special order release so that anyone prone to making a fuss about cost can go with the lower option if need be.

I agree I don't want an exact scale since that would be ridiculous and in most times really doesn't make sense with some of these heights like Danguard being 200m tall compared to a Getter who's around 50m for no other reason but one-upmanship. But I prefer relative heights, Great is taller than Mazinger, Grendizer is taller than Great, Getter Dragon is taller than Getter 1 and so on. By how much is debatable but it does have to be noticeable.

There was absolutely no opinion stated or implied in that response and there's no need to make things up. I never give thoughts on things before taking actual time with them. When I take initial shots my handling time is extremely limited so outside of saying "it looks nice" I don't really have much to offer until I take the time to actually have hands-on, play time with them and would rather give thoughts based on that rather than guesstimates that I may have to withdraw after said play time. It's nothing personal, I can assure you. Review up tomorrow, and I appreciate your inquiry. |

Quick comparison of Mazinkaiser and Grendizer Armored:  TattooedRobot just responding to some remarks you made about Mazinkaiser; - The torso is long "on paper' but it's literally made to be stanced in a heroic manner and that's why it's like that. On proper posing, his torso doesn't look derpy at all. - The shoulders can be reared down. |
