Price - 34,255 Yen
S/H - 1,200 Yen
Import fees - 4,590 Yen
Total - 40,045 Yen or $468.00Cdn ouch!

I think this is just crazy. MP transformers have always been appealing because they were premium, but slightly more affordable than stuff like Soul of Chogokin, etc. At a time when KOs are rampant, this is pricing headed in the wrong direction...will push more buyers away.
I also hope it’s not the KO market that’s doing this to us...maybe MP sales are trending down and so the production costs are getting higher for Takara? Or, Takara might think the KO collectors are likely to pass even at a lower $200-$300 price, so their pricing strategy is now just to target the diehards that will pay a premium.
Either way, I’m way out on this MP!

I like prime but not for this price I am sorry I can afford this but not for plastic. This realm is for soul of chogokin DX type of thing. The KO after this figure look amazing already, and for third the price... really Takara greedy much?

Geez.
It really hurts that Takara is abusing my limited 90s kid nostalgia for Optimus Prime.
The one G2 Rerun episode I remember watching was the one featuring Starscream impersonating Prime and I rented out the Transformers 86 film sometime in the early 00s from Blockbuster way back.
Damn you Takara!!!!
Well at least they don't have the Brave license to gouge my wallet with.

EBGames is offering preorders for this figure as well if you want a different avenue.
I think with them, you also have the chance to trade in to reduce the cost. I think this will be finally an MP that I'm passing initially.

If this were the FIRST MP-class Convoy, sure...I guess, they had me at hello. But, we had MP-01 and then, MP-10...and so, just yet another iteration of Prime which I would've considered if it were a bit less. But again yikes, the asking price. I do wrinkle my nose at harping at a price but seriously, the MSRP is just too high. I was already squinting when I had to PO the Masterpiece BW Megatron when the price was revealed...it's almost like you need to get ready for that $800 MP at some point near the future at this rate. |

Well one can preorder Amazon Japan for $320 shipped to the USA.
Once can cnacel up till August 12th I think if the funds aren't there for whatever reason.
