My grandparents recently passed away and one of the things they had been hanging on to for all these years was a Godaiken Godsigma figure, still in the box. They wanted to give it to me for my birthday, but around that time they were having a falling out with my parents. So, I have this action figure now and it's in really good condition. Is the best place to sell eBay? How do I figure out a fair price? Thanks! This is my first post on these forums. Seem like you all really know your stuff!

Welcome!
God Sigma prices can vary widely depending on condition. Do you have any pics? Also, have you sold on eBay before?

Yes, i agree. You should keep it. Especially if your relationship with your grandparents was great. Keeping it is worth more than whatever money you get from the sale.

Great inheritance piece! Sorry to hear you couldn't enjoy it as a kid. As others said, keep if you can, but not always the way it goes.
Godsigma has awesome shelf/display presence, as it's one of the biggest box fronts w a huge image. I always loved it. It's one of the more common Godaikins found, and never had much TV show exposure in many countries, so not as much nostalgia attached like Voltron, or Robotech versions of other Japanese toys.
Boxed GodSigmas usually end on ebay anywhere from $220-$400, depending on the month, with super mint ones maybe reaching 400-500 these days. Long ago, it used to reach 800-900 in some cases but not really anymore, so don't expect that.
Selling here on a specific forum site is good, as no auction fees to pay over to ebay, but the audience is less. If you're on Facebook or Instagram, put it up in one of the focused Japanese toy groups also. Ebay is good , will always get noticed and bid on , but will have to hand over more % of the sale to them afterwards. Either way,

Sorry for not responding more promptly, I had a super busy weekend. Yes, I have some photos and can take some more. Keeping it as an inheritance is a nice thought, but I don't really have the space and tend to move quite often so I would worry about it getting damaged or lost during a move. Sounds like what I should do is take some good photos and post it here and on eBay. Thanks for the price ranges, that gives me a better idea of how to price it.

One word of advice - these are SUPER FRAGILE. In particular, any parts made of blue plastic WILL BREAK if you're not extremely careful. Most people who haven't dealt with vintage diecast robots don't know how to pack them properly, and parts fracture in shipping.
So, make sure you use a HUGE, over sized box. I recommend wrapping God Sigma's packaging in a layer or 2 of bubble wrap. Then, put down a heavy layer of packing peanuts, place God Sigma on them, then pour another thick layer above and around the GoDaiKin. You want tons of shock obsorbtion and no room for the box to shift and rattle. Secure the box with heavy packing tape. I recommend writing, "Extremely Fragile - Please Handle With Care" on all sides of your shipping box.
This might cost a little extra, but you don't want to wind up refunding the buyer and getting a broken toy in return.
Good luck!

Also, when I ship godaikins I cut one full side off the free thin priority mail shipping boxes and lay that underneath the window overlay. The toys are heavy and will move and break the windows even though the foam is sturdy.
As coletron said, godsigma can be fragile especially if the blue plastic has discolored. Or if it was stored poorly (too hot, too cold, or too humid) etc. I have two original Popy DX box godsigmas (older than your godaikin release) and both mine are fine, so it depends on the individual toy.
Don't force anything and if you need to know how something works, ask us. We can also tell you if anything is missing or incorrect.

Man your gonna sell off something your grandparents left you just really sounds awful. I cherish my family and cant sell anything my living parents or grandparents have given me so hearing your willing to sell a gift, or an inherited ungiven gift,.I'm still a bit confused on that, is rather sad and maybe I'm just a little too sentimental or sensitive from the recent loss of family members but hearing this is making me sad. It would kill me to sell something like that and I would have to have a serious need to do so which would break my heart and kill me to do but I would have to be so desperate to sell something like that. I still get sick thinking about how I sold back a flying lesson my grandparents had given me in high school and wish I could go back and take the lesson they had given me. Damn this is making me cry Seriously. Maybe I'm just over sensitive and shouldnt care, it's only material possessions but to me it's a piece of the person that gave it to me that I was trading for a meaningless set of digital currency that will vanish in a couple days whereas every time I would look at that box I would think of the person that gave it to me and the time we shared. I hope you change your mind but who knows maybe you didnt know them at all or have nothing but horrible memories and this means absolutely nothing to you. I'm gonna go watch some oprah reruns now and ponder the world some more and how the heck I'm gonna fix it
