I've looked for the right GoDaiKin Daltanias for four years... and I got this guy on eBay for 15% off!
It's expected to arrive Monday. Is there anything I should know? Is anything fragile? I don't want to break it. Thanks!

I wouldn't say that its fragile other than the obvious things like the lion's tail... the main problem is that the Atlaus legs usually get scratched when you put it in the lion to make Daltanious.
Great find, how did it stay untouched for so long??

Great find, how did it stay untouched for so long?? Thanks for the heads up on Atlaus' legs. I like to get GoDaiKins new. I unbox them with my kid. Combine them. Display them. And never disassemble or handle them. Some I have duplicates of so I can enjoy both forms - but this guy will be the equivalent of a statue. I'll be extremely careful. But for all intents and purposes the legs will not be seen. How did it stay untouched? Good question... I'll ask the seller. But one thing I do know is that some years back a bunch of sealed Daltaniai hit the market. There's a thread about it from years ago. (Before I started posting here I read just about everything from the last 10 years to get up to speed - I spent a few months!) I live in Pittsburgh, and there's a guy in town who supposedly has CASES of them. Rumor is that he bought them from some legendary local toy store that is no longer. Vendors I know from the local Comic Con have told me of him. I've tried to reach him for YEARS. I've given people business cards and email info to pass to him; but I never heard from him. So, I pulled the trigger on this guy for $635 shipped after discount. According to tracking it arrives tomorrow. Sweet anticipation....

One joint to watch out for is the hips on the Atlas robot. The joint is two thick pieces pivoting, with only the one tiny screw just barely threaded into the chrome thigh leg part from the back, in a "single shear" configuration. It can, and often does, either pull the screw threads right out, or get a bit loosey-goosey. So, make sure it ONLY gets pivoted straight side-to-side the way it needs to, and doesn't get any front/back stress against the screw.
When you pick the robot out of the package, laying flat on its back in the tray, the wrong direction stress is already being applied to that hip joint, LOL.
Otherwise, fantastic piece to get! It's worth paying a bit more for that one, nearly perfect new old stock piece to have in the collection. So satisfying!
Stories of stashes always get the hunt going, don't they? I know for sure out there, are many such store buy-outs, that sit due to whomever owns them now, doesn't see the value, or is not interested particularly in our niche hobby, so it's just "whatever", they sit.

Thanks for the solid advice. Guys.
I opened it up last night. I've gotta say, it's absolutely perfect. I always do my best to get the most beautiful vintage pieces... but this one is a step above.
To document it, I did an unboxing video. I need to figure out how to upload to YouTube in 4K, and possibly do a little editing. But I'll post it to RJ when it's finished.
I'd rather not scratch Atlaus' legs during combination. In his YouTube review, Ultimate GoDaiKin in-G (I know he's an RJ member - I can't remember his name) recommends placing tape on the the metal edges. Won't this mess up the finish if left in this state for years?
I've waited so long to find the right specimen, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate your expertise and help.

Congrats man looks beautiful! Sometimes I find myself not opening the weapons on NOS items. I have few Godaikins like this were I’ll combine or display them but if weapons are stil stapled I leave them alone. I just got sealed Dynaman yesterday and felt like a kid opening it up. 😀 Sometimes I buy doubles of the ones I like. One for display and the other kept in the box. Daltanias is my favorite I actually upgraded mine recently to complete clean one and unloaded my first one I started with. Getting clean NOS vintage items are like what collecting is all about for me since it’s more of challenge, the hunt and exciting getting in your hand opening up 30-40 year old piece.

And congrats on your Dynaman. The 1st GoDaiKin I bought was a new Dynaman. I was instantly hooked, and I still love it. It's possibly ranked #3 in my collection (1&2 are vintage GoLions). Definitely my favorite Sentai robot of all time. It's so cool lookin'. And I do have 2 - the one I got MIB is displayed and never touched. The 2nd I got for my son to enjoy. It's in really good shape - he displays it in his room and plays with it gently. Such a quality, durable piece. He's got a DyJupiter, too. That set makes one of the most incredible toys imaginable - the elevator, the missiles, all of it.... I highly recommend that piece to complete your Dynaman. Have you seen the English dubbed Dynaman spoof that aired late night Fridays on the USA Network in 1988? It's the 1st taste of Sentai America got, and it's HILARIOUS. It's a cult classic now. I love it, and seeing Dynaman kick ass to '80s music is something that must be seen to be believed.

Yeah funny thing I got Dynaman at decent price and nobody bidded against me towards the end considering I’ve seen it sell over$500-$700 range. I totally forgot about the auction took a nap then woke up and won.
Ahhh I seen Dynajupiter in person but didn’t play around with it. Now I have to get it. 😜 I do like how you can store vehicles mode in there. My only problem is Where to display it. Ships and carriers are horizontal and take lot of display space. But I should get it. Funny I actually got second Dynaman yesterday. This will be my “beater” one. 😀

2 Dynamen is a great idea. Now that you have a beater you NEED that DyJupiter. It's so awesome.
Also, I'm glad to see you're not retiring. I remember welcoming you on the "New Member Introductions Thread" - I don't want to see you go.

I remember welcoming you on the "New Member Introductions Thread" - I don't want to see you go. I totally agree, the carriers for the Super Sentai mechs take them to another level... you appreciate the design even more when it fits into its mothership.
I don't have many perfect examples of chogokin like you do, though I have a very nice minty Dynajupiter. They are actually difficult to find complete because those antennas snap off so easily or get lost. I have a difficult time ranking the Super Sentai and their carriers. They are just so fantastic together.
For example, I wouldn't put Sun Vulcan ahead of Dynaman but when you see how crazy cool Sun Jaguar looks and opens up with that giant mouth it somehow is my favorite.
On the other hand BioDragon actually transforms itself and BioMan looks awesome too... though as a mech its one of the least solid feeling thanks to its legs being so loose usually...
Then there is ChangeMan Robo. I managed to get a complete very nice boxed set of that one (at a steal price) plus a "beater" to fit inside the Space Shuttle - which is probably my favorite in the way it unloads the pieces that make up ChangMan Robo.
Let's face it... the team at Popy just went to another level on these Super Sentai toys, though I've never really been interested in Goggle V combination for some reason.
Speaking of Sun Vulcan, if anyone has extra accessories for it please PM me... need all of them.

I’ve collected so many things in my life and I usually get heavily into it, get everythjng I want, sell it all off and move on to next collectible. I admit these super robots are the first collectibles that I’m proud to display them all and actually show visitors whether they know about them or not. Now my room looks like shop but running out display space. I completely went crazy past year. If I can find complete and relatively clean Dyjupiter I’ll get it.

The majority of my godaikins are mint like this and I have never ever assembled them and rarely will I remove the. From the styro unless they look to have been handled already. That piece looks so nice I would not attempt to assemble it. I would buy a loose one for that purpose. Very nice score.

I've been a member here for two years and I always get a kick out of your posts. I think this is the first time we've corresponded - so good to meet you! Most of my GoDaiKins are in mint to new condition. But I do combine them. My son and I unbox them, assemble them one time and display them in the living room for all to enjoy. Once they are there, they are never separated or played with. They're only taken down for an occasional dusting and never touched with bare hands. We cherish them. They're pretty much heirlooms we enjoy as art every day. The display looks something like this:

I’ve also heard of the guy over there that has “cases” of old new stock Godaikins. He also has Voltrons too, and for several years sold them on eBay. Many may remember him around 2010-2014 as he always had new Voltron IIIs, lots of new red and black single Voltron IIs, and the Voltron DX and ST sword/shield packs for sale. He also would always list “case fresh” Godaikins. I bought a few things, and talked to him a bit, and he told me about his 5,000 square foot warehouse full of old new stock toys, mostly Sci-Fi/robot related. At that time he also described having at least 2 sealed cases of each Godaikin robot he was holding to sell along with everything else to retire on. His story was like something out of American Pickers dreams haha. But he stopped selling on eBay all the sudden in late 2014. Not sure what has happened, but I haven’t seen or heard from dude since, until you brought this up. Man what if the story is true? Where is Indiana Jones when we need him?! Haha

I've heard about this. I'm pretty sure the vendor with the sealed Daltanias I'd looked for locally got it there. People have told me if a tremendous warehouse/ toystore. I was told the guy sold everything off. The local Con is next Fri. I'll see if I can find our more....
