I recently acquired a Mattel Shogun Warriors Voltes V. Is this toy the same exact figure as the Popy GA-80? Or are there any notable differences or variances to the toy in this American release?   |

Wow I've never seen that Voltes V Shogun Warrior before! Can you please show the back of the box? It seems like the shoulders are the biggest difference and the Popy version has a sword etc. Have a look www.robotvintage.com/article/Ga80_voltes_st.html |

Actually the shoulders are identical. The shoulders on the link that you provided have the applied stickers on them from the original sticker sheet. The Shogun Warriors version does not include a sticker sheet to my knowledge. So I think the only difference is the inclusion of the two swords with the Popy version unless I'm mistaken. I can't see any other glaring differences between the two versions, unless it's something small. |
