I received my Irwin toy Co. Matchbox Voltron today. Irwin toy Co. was a Canadian toy company. This Matchbox DX version came with weapons. I am gathering as much information about this piece as I can. I have been speaking with someone from Canada who has one though he thinks that mine is an earlier version than his. Anyone on here have one or any knowledge about this Version?

I know I have really wanted one since hearing about it, but just couldn't pull the trigger on the one from eBay. That's an awesome score though. Congrats! I have the mini Lion version from Irwin and it's one of my favorites. I'm really glad I bought it on a whim when seeing it, even though I wasn't as interested in Matchbox Voltrons then as I am now.

I was actually able to get it at a really good price. I did not pay the asking price. It is very cool. I am gathering some more information and will update. I wish I knew how to add pictures.

There was one up on ebay a few weeks ago, and I almost pulled the trigger. The packaging looks weird, with the large box - and the "Voltron III" Matchbox cover surrounded by the border.
Internally, it looks like a new lionbot. I would have pulled the tigger, if it had the Popy layer out - with the carded blisters. Still, nice score!

It is a great piece and I was lucky to grab it. It came with a really cool lionbot manual in French. The funny part is that you are able to actually see “Godaikin” in the lower right hand corner where they copied right over it. This model was made in Taiwan, does not have the gb-36 silver stickers as the US version. I would say its an official Lionbot.
