Waiting for things is more gratifying than actually getting the item most of the time
"Waiting for your Christmas gift as a kid was special because you had to wait. If your purchases are making you feel empty, then you probably need to relearn the art of delayed gratification. I practice it all the time, and it makes me more grateful for the things I buy." familymoneyplan.com/life-lessons-on-turning-40/

honestly i never took you for a wise man lol
thanks for sharing bro, im doing most of the things that was mentioned in the article since i was in the university and i couldn't be happier, even tho im not 40 yet but the experience of those who are, could help to avoid alot
i want to comment on the "pick your friends wisely and toxic people" i discover that long long ago, that i need to drop those from my life as soon as i can no matter how close we are, ive read somewhere that those type of people will make you feel less in everything and pull you down, while the great people will make you feel great and lift you up
so fake people, people who care about what others think about them, 2 faced people, hypocrites and finally the advance type of ignorance when the person doesn't know he/she is ignorant, all of those are on my must avoid list, shockingly you will end up with a hand full of people but you know you have jewels in your life better than 100 rock
i remember Dostoevsky once said "there isn't enough space for more wrong persons in life" (not %100 accurate translation since Ive read it in another language)
tho im not a big fan of waiting lol, you dont have any idea, waiting for something i really want is a killer for me

Yeah, I was reading that article and when I got to the part I quoted here, it reminded me of this hobby and this forum. It also reminded me of something else I read, that planning and anticipating a future vacation is as good, if not better, for your health as the vacation itself. That makes sense to me when I think about it.

waited for 20 years to finally get a GX-02 Great Maz, i know the feeling. GX-02 pretty much isn't a big deal, but i had to eat soda crackers, and cup noodle to save up for GX-01 when it was first released. well unfortunately my body could not take that kind of abuse so i had to let go all aspirations of buying GX-02.
see, i'm digging up old threads.
